Henry and Natalie were sitting at the piano bench, listening to one another play.
"Usually I hate listening to Mozart, but you make it really good, Natalie." Henry said once she finished.
"Thanks." She murmured. Natalie looked at Henry and he looked at her and smiled, and he slowly slid himself closer to her and Natalie felt her heart start to race. Henry leaned his body in gently, and Natalie did the same.
She felt like the world was in slow motion as Henry tilted his head, and put a hand gently on her face, slowly and carefully pulling their lips together.
When Henry kissed her Natalie's insides went crazy. Her heart pounded, her blood rushed, her insides flipped upside down. She had only had a few kisses before and was nervous that she wasn't any good.
But after a few moments the nerves turned to happiness, and she got calm. Henry's hand fell to her waist and slowly moved up and down her back. He made her feel like he cared about her, he was so gentle. She felt happy for a moment when she realized that someone – maybe not her parents – but somebody cared about her. She had never had a kiss like that.
Henry slowly pulled away, but left his forehead leaning on hers. He smiled at her and Natalie melted at his smile, but she was frozen. Henry mistook her unsure and nervous facial expression as being upset.
"I'm sorry." He quickly blurted. "If you didn't want me to..do that..I…I'm sorry…" Natalie snapped back into reality
"No! No." Was all she could say. Henry gave a small smile and looked at her skeptically,
"So…you liked it?" He asked. Natalie nodded.
"I'm sorry." She said. "I'm just…all I've ever had were stupid like 8th grade boyfriends, I..I don't know…what to do." Natalie told him.
"Neither do I. I mean, mine were stupid 8th grade girlfriends…" He said, trying to make her laugh which she did. "But, I'm unsure too." He said. Henry put his around Natalie's shoulder, and suddenly she felt protected and safe.
Safe from hurt, and pain, and being ignored.
"We can figure it out….together." Natalie smiled
"How cute." She teased and Henry chuckled.
"Maybe another kiss will help." He suggested. Natalie shrugged.
"Maybe." And Henry brought his lips to hers once again, holding her waist, one hand softly stroking her cheek. Natalie pulled away and kissed him again, letting her hands touch his face gently, feeling the softness of his skin.
They pulled away again, and fell into a hug. Henry held her tightly, and now she really felt safe. She liked it, his arms around her, his breath on her neck. And Natalie hugged him a little tighter and rested her head on his shoulder
. But she quickly pulled away and realized that..she couldn't do this…not with her life.
Sorry to end such a happy fic on a not so happy note! Reviews?
