Disclaimer: I don't own Twilight

Author's note: This is my second Twilight oneshot I've published. Enjoy!

She looked up. He was walking down the corridor again. Passing her, but not acknowledging her. She understood why. She was boring, very boring. She wasn't social, she didn't like sports and had a book stuck in front of her face all the time. Who would like her?

She sighed lightly. Who would even notice her?

She began walking down the corridor, her head bent down. She got bumped by a few other students but she didn't care anymore. It happened too often.

She heard a loud thump and then she was lying on the floor. She had tripped over the books some student had put on the ground. Who did even put their books on the ground?

She sighed again and scrambled up. What more could she do? She didn't have the guts to confront anyone.

She continued on hoping no one would notice her.

Sometimes she would like to be noticed though. Not ignored and not in the center of attention but maybe someone could just say hi? Just so it didn't seem like she was a part of the wall behind her. That she did exist.

She sighed once again. She seemed to do that a lot now.

She looked around discreetly. She didn't want anyone to see that she was watching them. They all sat near each other. Talking and laughing between their seats. She would like to be a part of that. So many friends and sometimes she thought that people didn't appreciate it.

She wondered what she would do if she had so many friends. Probably the same thing they did. Laughing and talking without a care of the world. She smiled slightly; what a beautiful picture that made.

She sighed again. That would never happen to her.

The bell rang, the lesson was over. Everyone got their books and began walking out. She followed after them not really enjoying the lunch break like everybody else. Unlike them she had nothing to look forward to. She was just going to sit in a corner of the cafeteria by herself as usual.

She stood in the lunch cue waiting to pay the food on her tray. When she had done that she walked unsteadily, watching the tray so that she would not spill anything on the ground.

But of course she bumped into someone. The person got everything on his shirt and some came on her too.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" she said. "I'll pay for it!"

"No need to worry", the person said, the voice of a boy.

She looked up to see him looking down at her.

"I'm sorry", she repeated. "I will pay for the shirt."

"There's no need, I have enough money and it was my fault really. I wasn't looking where I was going", he said. He observed her face. "Who are you? I don't recognize you."

Her face fell a little. He had never even seen her?

"I'm Bella Swan", she answered self-consciously.

"I'm Edward Masen."

As if she didn't know that already.

"Nice to meet you", she blushed and reached out her hand for him to shake.

He took it gently and shook it. "It's nice to meet you too."

She blushed a little more.

"I'll buy you a new lunch", Edward said.

"You don't need to, I can do it myself", Bella said. She wanted to seem independent.

He just waved her off and bought her lunch ignoring her protests.

"You can sit with us if you'd like", he said.

She nodded; she had always wanted to sit with people and not empty chairs.

She followed him to his table and they sat down. All of his friends happily greeted her and began chatting away. She joined in at times. She was very happy.

This picture didn't just look nice, it was nice to be in it too.

The End
