an unexpected occurrence

Sure, one must have been a fool to not notice the similarities and differences that Team 7 and the Legendary Sannin had in common.

But one must also have been a fool for not noticing how alike Team 7 were with their parents, or well, Sasuke and Naruto's parents to be exact.

They might not have noticed it (what with their parents all being dead and not really knowing much about them) but the villagers noticed every time they saw one of them walking down the street hand-in-hand, talking and laughing with a reckless abandon that only teenagers posses.

The elders of the village noticed it before anybody else.

The way they did the opposite of their parents, shocking everybody so badly that the gossip didn't die down for months.

Looking back on it they wonder if their parents had made their children's choices instead of the ones they took, would the outcome have been different?

If yellow and red hadn't fallen in love and had fallen in love with their best friends, if black and brown hadn't met and gotten the attention of their clan, making them marry.

If yellow hadn't been who he was, if red hadn't been who she was, if black hadn't been who he was and if brown hadn't been who she was, well then history would just have to rewrite itself.

That when they usually stopped thinking about it because thinking hurt too much what with all the nitty-gritty details, all the mistakes, would-have-been and what-ifs.

Minato – a man of his word, never back down type of guy - married Kushina – loud, obnoxious, blunt and stubborn to a fault girl - and then they created a loud, never backing down, blunt and stubborn to a fault boy.

Fugaku – calm, smart and well mannered man - married Mikoto - quiet, shy, but brave woman - and then they created a quiet, smart and brave boy.

They expected the boys to fall for women like their mothers, as most men usually do.

Then the boys grew up, braved the world and learned different lessons then their parents. The village still expected the same outcome; loud and loud, quiet and quiet.

They never expected the loud, never backing down, blunt and stubborn to a fault young man to notice the shy and quiet white eyed girl who sought after his attention.

They never expected the quiet, smart and brave young man to turn around and fall in love with the loud and rash rosette headed girl.

After a while, the village got over it and searched for the next piece of gossip.

That is until their children were born.

Poor, poor, unfortunate girls.
