This is just a short story about what happen after Till Death Do Us Part. I hope nobody else has done this.

Left Behind

He was still in shock as he stood outside what was left of the building? A place he loved. He had always felt some of these people who worked in the building were his family. They were gone now and he would never see them again with the exception of the funerals he was going to attend.

He along with the others, were waiting as they brought each of the bodies out. Even as he looked at the building he couldn't believe they were all-dead now. His family was gone and he would never see them again.

McGee's body was the first one they brought out. He never even got out of the bullpen. It was said that he stayed behind to backup all the information they had on Dearing. He had been told McGee didn't die immediately after the explosion. When the rescuers got to him he was calling for help. He died when parts of the skylight fell in on him. Two firemen were injured trying to save him but there was nothing anyone could do to stop it.

Next ones they found were Gibbs and Abby. Both of them where in the basement hallway. It looked like they managed to get out of Abby lab's only to be killed when the ceiling collapse in on them. They found Gibbs on top of Abby. They believe Gibbs was trying to shield her with his body.

It took the rescuers a while to find Tony and Ziva in the elevator. It was a big surprise to everyone that they got into the elevator. Everyone knows you should stay out of them in situations like this because you could become trapped. What nobody knew was that the stairways were too crowded at the time. Both Tony and Ziva knew McGee was still in the bullpen trying to backup all the information they had on Dearing. The two wanted to make sure he was gone before they left the building. If he wasn't they were going to drag him out of there. They were not going to leave him behind. The two had entered the elevator and pressed button. The explosion went off. Tony had been seriously injured when he used his body to cushion Ziva when the elevator fell. Tony and Ziva were now trapped.

When the rescuers finally found them, it was very emotional. It looked like the two had managed to get the door partially open enough for Ziva to leave but she didn't. They found Ziva and Tony cuddled together. The autopsy reports later would show that they both had died from smoke inhalation. It went on further to state, Tony's injures had been life threatening and that he would have died from them without medical help. Ziva had a few bruises from debris falling but she could have left anytime she wanted to. Ziva chose to stay with her fallen partner and friend.

So there he stood watching as they brought out the bodies of the last two people he thought of as family.

As he stood there and watched them lower Ducky's body in the grave he felt so alone. They had left him behind. He started to scream. He didn't care who heard him. It just hurt so much.

Then he heard her sweet voice, "Jimmy…Jimmy wake up. Please wake up darling. Please Jimmy."

When he finally opened his eyes, he saw his beloved Breena. She had a worried look on her face, "Jimmy you were having a nightmare. Do you want to talk about it?"

Jimmy sat up in the bed and stared at his beautiful wife, "I had that same dream as before. I dreamed that my family was dead. I dreamed they were all gone and I was left behind."

She smiled, "Honey, it was just a nightmare. They are all safe. We are going to see them at the cookout tomorrow."

Breena kissed him on the cheek, "Now get some sleep."
