The skylark lay on the roof, watching the clouds drift in the sky. They were where they belonged. The sky…
Yet, he knew his sky was no longer here. His sky had gone… He had left. But it was all his fault to begin with… "Tsunayoshi…" The disciplinary head muttered.
Flashback
The couple had just had a fight. Mainly because Tsuna wouldn't let Hibari take on a mission by himself. Hibari was depressed of course. The disciplinary head usually didn't show any emotion. But when it came to Tsuna… Well, the same thing couldn't be said.
The 'carnivore' walked out in the streets, he was slightly tipsy after a couple of drinks- something one wouldn't usually see. Hibari usually didn't let anyone see him in his weakened state. This was different, however. His woes, his disappointment… He couldn't do anything about it he had to rely on alcohol to relieve him of it…
So there he was, stumbling over his steps lazily and clumsily along the streets, when suddenly, "Hibari-san, look out!"
Being a drunkard, his reactions were deterred greatly, by the time his head was turned, he could feel a push, and the next thing he knew, before him was a corpse… A bloodied corpse.
He stared at the body in front of him… His Tsunayoshi was gone…. All thanks to him…
Flashback Ends
He laughed mirthlessly. Ironic, wasn't it? The great Vongola boss who saved the world from destruction, killed in a car crash.
And it was his fault. Everyday, he had nightmares, flashbacks of that very memory that constantly taunted and mocked him.
He couldn't stand it. Why hadn't he died instead? Why hadn't that weak, stupid herbivore just let him die? Then maybe… He wouldn't have to go through all this… All this guilt… Loss…
He loved Tsunayoshi, he was sure of that. So why hadn't he just let him have his way? Why hadn't he just agreed to go on the mission with others? It was his fault…. All his fault.
The skylark gripped on to his hair, the voice of Tsuna's echoing in his mind endlessly, refusing to let up.
He stood up and walked to the corner of the roof before staring down at the ground beneath. The path Tsuna once walked. The place he had had his first 'date' with Tsuna. He could almost make out a slight silhouette of the brunette waving to him. His sparkling innocent eyes. His cherry red lips.
They were gone.
A mere line separated him from his Tsuna. The line between the living and the dead.
"Tsunayoshi…" The skylark uttered again, trying his best to relive the happy memories he had with Tsuna. But it escaped.
No matter how hard he tried, only a wisp of that memory was left. Nothing more.
He stared at the ground again. That line… If Tsuna was just a line away from him… Why not?
He would do anything to see Tsuna again. What did that line mean to him? If he got to see his lover again, what was there to lose?
Taking a deep breath, he made his decision. He would see Tsunayoshi again…. He had to. What was the point of living without Tsunayoshi?
"Wait for me." He said before jumping. Jumping across the line….
Jumping so that once again, he would see him…
His herbivore.
