Marriage of Cultures
My sister's face catches my eye as I pass the kitchen table. I pull the paper towards me. Cissy, beautiful even in black and white, stands proudly beside Lucius Malfoy.
"Black and White Unite as Narcissa Black weds Lucius Malfoy!" screams the caption.
They're right. It is a marriage of Black and White. Of Light and Dark.
But more than that, it is a marriage of Cultures.
Narcissa, our Black Daffodil, owes her name to Ancient Greek. Lucius is derived from the Latin for Light.
Narcissa marries Lucius. Blackness marries Light. Greek marries Roman.
One can only hope that they will be happy.
