Title: These Words
Length: 476
Summery: Tom has 3 simple words to tell Doug.
A/N: This is a fiction I wrote inspired by the Natasha Bedingfield song "These words." Its kinda cheesy but I was drugged up on painkillers. Lol. Don't ask. Anyways, please enjoy and review!

Tom sighed as he lay in bed with Doug, his head lying still on his chest, reveling in the closeness of his partner. As it was early morning and they both needed to get up go to work they just lay in bed.
Tom sighed; "I love you," he slowly moaned not really aware until after it came out. Doug lifted his head surprised at his statement, and unsure of what words to reply with.
It was silent for a while then Tom quickly sat up grabbing his pants. "I uh… should go now. Lots of paperwork that needs finishing" he lied.
Doug saw right through it and tried to think of something to say, "Tom..." but nothing came out "Uh… I guess I'll see you later." He pathetically came out with Tom gave a fake smile and grabbed the rest of his stuff and walked out of his apartment without another word.

Doug didn't say anything to Tom, when he got to the chapel.
The following days, they weren't necessarily busy but didn't make an effort to cross each other's path as they normally would. Then one day while everything well almost had already gone home, Tom was still at his desk finishing off his last report. Doug walked up to him, "You are coming with me mister!" he exclaimed and before Tom could object he grabbed the papers he was working on and put them aside the other just looked up and sighed, "ok fine."

They ended up walking down next to the small river close the Hastings square. They were both staring out into the river watching the sunset.
They weren't talking just sitting in a comfortable silence then Doug broke it, "Tom", he said slowly turning to face his partner.
"The other day when I freaked out… I…" he seemed to not be able to get out what he wanted to say so instead he showed him, he pushed himself up to Tom and claimed his lips with his own pulling him deep in a kiss.
The sensation pausing them both then after a while Doug pulled away, "Tom… You're always so good with words."
He started explaining wrapping his arms around his lovers waist "Look I'm not that grate at expressing myself and just because I don't say it, it doesn't mean that I don't feel the exact same way. Just bare with me while I try to get used to us."
Tom smiled, he was never angry with him. "I know… tough guy." he joked, Doug smiled "but do you?" he asked more seriously.
"Do I what?"
"Do you love me?"
"Yes To I love you!"
With that he grabbed him and pulled him in a hug an they just embraced for a while forgetting the sunset they came out to watch and just stood in each others arms.

Threw some chords together
The combination D-E-F
Is who I am, is what I do
No one's gonna let it down for you
Try to focus my attention
But I feel so A-D-D
I need some help, some inspiration
(But it's not coming easily)
Whoah oh

Trying to find the magic
Trying to write a classic
Don't you know, don't you know, don't you know?
Waste-bin full of paper
Clever rhymes, see you later

These words are my own
From my heart flow
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you
There's no other way
To better say
I love you, I love you

Read some Byron, Shelly and Keats
Recited it over a Hip-Hop beat
I'm having trouble saying what I mean
With dead poets and drum machines
I know I had some studio time booked
But I couldn't find a killer hook
Now you've gone.
