A silver white moon crescent hung proudly in the sky, illuminating the meadow where Team 7 was lying. All three were in sleeping bags, out in the open; the tents deemed unneeded because of the wonderful weather.
Sakura's sleepy voice suddenly cut through the silence. "Hey you guys…"
The two boys shifted their gazes from the stars to their teammate. "Hm?"
"If you had a single, deep secret wish, what would it be? Mine would be to stay friends with you guys forever."
Naruto and Sasuke smiled at the simplicity and cuteness of that wish. They wanted it too, but it wasn't what they wanted most.
"Well…" Sasuke ventured next. "I… would like it if my parents could be there. If they could see me…"
Silence floated in the air between the three friends, awaiting Naruto's wish.
"You already know what my wish is." The blond smiled.
Automatically, the other two sing-songed. "Become the next Hokage."
Chuckling, Team 7 slowly drifted to sleep. Just before his eyes closed and he was away to dreamland, Naruto muttered:
"But if I really had one wish, my only wish would be…" he looked at the other two and smiled softly, "that this moment never ends…"
