Harry potter: a decision changed
Authors note: just a little one shot of if a decision changed right at the start of the story would change things. All right be long to J K Rowling and Warner brothers.
On a night that seemed unremarkable to most people amazing events were happening to people in a whole other world on this night on old hallows eve the dark lord Voldemort was defeated and stripped from his body in to a shade like form and had fled after harry potter a year old infant had somehow rebounded an evil curse right back at the wizard Harry Potter had just become a hero The boy who lived.
He was taken to Albus Dumbledore by the giant Rubeus Hagrid and he now had a difficult choice to make about the boys future did he put him with his Aunt where his mother's blood ran granting him a great protection or did he put him with another wizarding family where he would be loved and cherished unlike with his Aunt where he would surely suffer for her prejudice.
Albus Dumbledore stood on the pathway to number four Privet drive in surrey with a bundle of blankets which held the young hero tired from the struggle earlier "well young harry what do we do with you if I leave you here you will suffer though I hope they will love you like your parents did or do I make the easy choice and send you to a wizarding family where I can pick the best loving family for you" he mused to the young child all he could see was those beautiful emerald eyes and knew he could not place him here "come than harry I would rather you happy than hated" and Albus Dumbledore disappeared.
A few hours later Albus Dumbledore was at the weasleys home with a cup of steaming hot tea in his hands looking at a young couple Mrs and Mr weasley both had bright red hair and were cooing all over the young potter " I have come here to see if you would take Harry in I don't know if you have heard the news yet Arthur" he asked Mr Weasley the red headed man nodded "we heard that there was an attack made by you know who on the potters and young harry here somehow survived and vanquished him when so many others including his parents have died as for caring for him I think we can be assured that he has a home here I doubt molly will let him go now" replied Mr weasley a big grin on his face "yes Albus he will stay with us I knew lily potter a little bit and she was a kind and loving women and merlin knows the potter family has paid enough for standing up to evil we will look after him" Mrs Weasley assured him the rest of the night was spent finalising arrangements and signing placement papers and finally agreeing to not put protections up Mrs weasley was adamant that the war was over and they would be unnecessary.
The next day the news that harry potter was at the weasleys was released to the public and Lucius Malfoy read with a grim grin on his face it was time to get revenge on his fallen lord he found Bellatrix lestrange who they were harbouring and told her the news and they appeared by the burrow where the weasleys lived it was early morning and they saw Mr weasley walking to the car outside "I'm going to enjoy this" he stepped behind him and said "goodbye Arthur avada kedavra" a green light hit Mr weasley and he was dead instantly Lucius stepped back as he heard Mrs weasley run after hearing the sound " I will kill her" said Bellatrix "avada kedavra" and Mrs weasley died on the spot too.
They entered the house and killed the rest of the Weasley children and then found harry potter in the room on the top floor crying "this thing destroyed our lord let's do this together" they pointed both wands at little harry potter and shouted "Avada kedavra" killing the saviour of the wizarding world and dooming it for centuries to come for the dark lord would be back and when Albus Dumbledore found out he wept and cried for a future that was lost because he didn't do what was right but did what was easy.
