Cloud had never really used a computer before. Growing up in a place like Nibelheim meant just the simple luxuries really. Take running water, an oven, electric lights. He hadn't actually seen a laptop until Zack had brought one into the compound. He's bragging now about how cheap he'd gotten it for, too. And they don't even come like this anymore. He practically gave this thing away. What he means is they don't come this big anymore. They're all hand-helds or cell phones or little devices that attach to your wrist. High tech and small for your convenience. They all go to the same place though, Cloud's told. A huge data base of information. A super highway of images, videos and ideas. Those are Zack's words. He says you can find just about anything you want on the internet. Most everyone in Midgar shops like this. All the folks on the upper levels, anyway. You wouldn't see many of the slum's group buzzing around on here.

Zack starts showing him little things at first. The official Shinra Military website. Gives you all the information you need in order to join, up coming events for the President and pictures of their facilities. It also has a growing roster of their 1st class SOLDIERs. Join today and make a difference. It headed just about every page. Cloud guesses Zack was just hoping to find his name there one day. Wouldn't they all. Later on Zack starts showing him videos or weird pictures. Couldn't seem to get enough of people hurting themselves or doing ridiculous stunts. He starts pulling Cloud aside after classes to show him something, or talk about his findings during lunch. Zack would say that's the highlight of this thing, buddy. Next to porn. Cloud was dumb enough, innocent enough, naive enough (so many to choose from) to ask him what that was. Zack had just chuckled. He sits him down in the nearly empty rec room, the super-warm machine on his lap. It hums expectantly. He clicks on the keyboard for a minute and then has him look. He leans over Zack's shoulder to see. He stares at the screen for a moment before the image makes sense, the pieces come together.

"I should have known."

Zack smiles, of course. It would look harmless on anyone else.

Two perfect breasts light the screen.
