White Wedding (It's A Nice Day for a)

I held her small hands as her eyes poured into mine.

Alex was wearing our mothers' wedding dress and I was wearing our fathers' tuxedo.

They were oversized on both of us, considering how young we were.

Our little brother Max sat on the floor, with a bible at his side. He had just started talking so his speech came out gibberish. I had practiced what to say so many times after watching numerous movies.

I watched all the weddings so I knew the routine. I knew what to do.

I smiled and said, 'with this ring I thee wed'. I placed the cherry ring pop on her left hand, second to last finger. Alex repeated this, hesitantly, but with a grape ring pop instead.

After this, the time that I had been waiting for was finally here. I pressed my lips softly against hers.

Her ringlets fell on top of her dandelion bouquet. Our lips detached, unfortunately. We made our way from the bottom of the spiral staircase to the area between the couch and the TV. I pressed the play button on the boom box as "The Way You Look Tonight" blasted through the speakers. I dimmed the lights and made my way toward Alex.

I grabbed her hips and danced along to the music.

She placed her fragile arms over my shoulders. I noticed how hard this was for her to stretch to meet the top.

Therefore, I propped her on my feet. With a light touch, I moved her hand in to mine.

The way I had practiced so many times before. She was small in my arms but she fit like she was meant to be there. Like she was surgically attached there, interlocking pieces of a puzzle.

Her skin was soft as she looked into my eyes. Chocolate brown and warm, they were filled with wonderment as well as curiosity.

"You are my love, Alex," I said as our feet grazed the wooden floor beneath us. Being only seven, it didn't seem wrong. It felt perfectly right.

"Justin," she spoke softly, "I love you."

A smile the size of Texas covered my face.

"I love you too, Alex."

A/N: Oneshot fun! I thought this would be cute because its what me and my childhood sweetheart did. Said sweetheart later broke my heart and it wasn't so sweet. But whatever. I know it was short but I hope you enjoyed it!
