Yesterday...

I ran through the forest on a late summer day, dodging the obstacles and constantly watching my back as my braid flailed through the wind. It seemed peaceful, the birds were chirping, the air was still. It would've been a lovely day to enjoy by sitting outside by a fire eating supper. I was wearing the same thing I've worn since I was little. A short tan dress, with only one shoulder. Of course I had my embroidered black bag, that I tried to hold tight to my side. I had put it over my head so it would lay at an angle. I couldn't risk having to pick it up if it fell. The sun was disappearing and my breath grew shorter. I didn't realize how long I had been running. Behind me the screaming and sounds of soldiers sharp boots scraping the ground slowly ceased to exist. They didn't care about anyone but themselves. They just tore through the forest, ripping the branches of and turning everything to shreds as they chased me. I couldn't hear them anymore, but I still ran. As night fell, I reached a small stream. I stopped to catch my breath but I just collapsed instead. This is where I slept for the night, on the cold but soothing grass next to a river. I was filled with relief. Relief that I had gotten away. Relief that all they had done did not go in vain. Relief that it was finally over. For the night, anyway.

I was awoken the next morning by a strange boy. He looked about my age, 15 or 16. He was no doubt from the water tribe, Everything he wore was a shade of blue. He had a wonderful tan and his hair was pulled back. He looked confused. I can imagine why though. Most people don't find a girl washed up beside a river. When I opened my eyes I was tired and the sun was blinding. But then I remembered and quickly sat up. But he reassured my that he wasn't going to harm me. That it was alright. H

"I'm not going to hurt you, I promise. My name's Sokka, what's your?"

He said this with the biggest smile on his face. I could tell he knew I was just as confused as he was. He saw me as no threat. Boy was he mistaken. He stood up and reached out his hand to help me up.

"Sora."

"Huh?"

"My name I mean. It's Sora."

He offered to take me back to his campsite. Really nice gesture for someone he just met. I wasn't even sure if I could trust him. But he obviously had no idea who I was so I agreed. Besides, I have no provisions, it's not as if I was given a chance to sit down and get my stuff together. It was all so fast...
