Toklo padded up to Lusa and dropped the rabbit at her feet. They touched noses gently

"Thank you" she murmured, and started eating. He settled down beside her and joined her in eating the rabbit. He took a few bites and felt eyes on him. Looking up, he saw Lusa staring at him.

"What's wrong?" He asked, nervously.

"Oh! Nothing's wrong… I was just… looking at you." She blushed.

"Oh… ok." He smiled at her and continued eating. He finished rather fast; he had scarfed the meat down quickly, starving from hunting all day. He watched her eat, delicately and politely. He smiled. He loved the way her ears would twitch every so often, and she smiled during whatever she was doing, even eating, or traveling.

It was her turn to feel his eyes. She looked up at him… she loved his deep brown eyes.

"I'm sorry," he said, "I just love the way you eat."

"The way I eat?" She laughed.

"Yeah, it's just so… pretty!" He laughed also, "I guess that sounds dumb."

"No…" She shook her head, "No, I understand! I guess I do eat prettily…" this caused her to crack up. They were both laughing uncontrollably when Kallik walked in.

"What is so funny?" she looked from one bear to the other, puzzled. They gave each other a look and shook their heads, still laughing quietly.

"Oh nothing," said Toklo

"Yeah, nothing at all" echoed Lusa. Kallik rolled her eyes.

"Alrighty then. Well, you guys should get some sleep; we need to leave early tomorrow. I'll take first watch." The two cubs nodded. Lusa snuggled up to Toklo and put her head on her paws. Toklo looked down at her and took a deep breath.

"Lusa, can I tell you something?"

"Sure."

"I love you."

Lusa looked up, startled. The shock in her eyes quickly faded to happiness.

"I love you too Toklo." They touched noses and settled down to sleep, both blissfully happy.
