Unfortunately, I don't own Inuyasha. If I did though, you can imagine
what. uh, no. I'll stop there. Enjoy.
Oh, and a quick note- I love Inuyasha. This fic is slightly mocking of a pattern I've noticed. Sorry.
Kagome looked over the rock separating two hot springs at the guys. She watched Inuyasha for a few moments with a smile on her face, before she realized that he was about to stand up.
"Oh!" She flushed and turned quickly away, only to see Miroku peeking over at Sango. "Miroku!" Sango looked up quickly at dove down into the water. Kagome stooped lower and glared at the monk.
A few moments later, as the group was walking down the path, Miroku with a few nasty bumps on his head, both girls were glaring at both guys.
"I don't see what I'm in trouble for." Inuyasha grumbled.
"You should have been keeping an eye on him!" Kagome stated.
"Feh."
"You know," Miroku started.
"I'm sure we don't care." Sango interupted.
"It's just an interesting observation I have made." He continued calmly. "How would Kagome have seen me peeking from around that little bend?" Sango looked up curiously. "Her head must have also been up. Meaning she was watching us, or more exactly, Inuyasha, herself."
Kagome flushed deeply and lowered her head. Inuyasha looked up somewhat , uh, shall we say, befuddled? "What?"
"I'm just saying, with the rocks how they were, she could have only seen me if she had her own head up."
At that moment, a flock of Dragon-Demons flew low over their heads, followed by the sound of creaking wheels coming towards them. The men pulled Sango and Kagome off to opposite sides of the road as the oddest and longest procession of demons and carriages any of them had ever seen started by. Inuyasha and Kagome were on one side, Sango Miroku, and Shippou on the other.
"I think we may have quite a wait ahead of us." Kagome said uncomfortably.
"Were you really peeking at us?" Inuyasha immediately realized he had been to sudden as Kagome's head dipped down and her face flushed bright red. An awkward pause followed, for about ten minutes, before she answered.
"I didn't see anything." Inuyasha looked up. "I looked away as soon as you started to stand."
"What were you hoping to see if you were gonna turn away when I started to stand up?"
"I didn't want to see anything I hadn't already seen." Kagome hesitated. "I just like watching you when you don't know you're being watched."
Inuyasha blushed and reached out for her. Pulling her close, he whispered, to make her feel better about her confession, "I like to watch you ,too. Usually when you sleep."
She looked up at him and they drew closer to each other.
Kagome's heart raced as she realized he was about to kiss her. She knew she had been waiting for him to for a long while, but still, she was nervous. Looking into his golden eyes, she felt suddenly comfortable in the small prickly shrubbery they were crouched in, and the edges began to fade into a dreamy border around his strong face as her eyes closed.
Inuyasha's heart raced as he realized he was about to kiss her. He knew he had been wanting to kiss her since the first time he had watched her sleep. Looking into her pure brown eyes, he knew he wasn't even close to nervous. He barely felt the thorns in his feet and his senses began to dull as he watched her eyes close, and her lips part. Then a familiar scent caught his attention as the end of the procession approached.
"Kikyo?"
