The Ark was quiet, save for the slop of the mop that Murphy dragged across the floor, bothered by his work detail sentence for standing up for himself against a stupid grounder. They weren't even in the sky anymore and Murphy was still being punished for bullshit. He wanted to get his mind off of it, though. He was too tired to be angry at the world. He began to hum a tune softly and as he continued his work to the rhythm, he became loud and louder, attracting the attention of a curious Bellamy who was passing outside in the hallway.

Bellamy stopped in the doorway – Murphy unaware as his back was to him. Bellamy smiled at him and couldn't help but chuckle. Murphy turned in surprise and accidentally kicked the bucket of soapy, gray water.

"Bellamy, what they hell!? You scared the crap out of me!" Murphy stated with exasperation.

"Sorry, I couldn't help it," Bellamy laughed light-heartedly, staring at him.

"Knock next time, will ya?"

"Sure."

"Now get out of here before you give me another week of work detail. I'm sure Kane's dying to keep me locked up in here," Murphy rolled his eyes.

"Sure thing…but, just tell me where you've heard that song you were humming? I liked it," Bellamy leaned against the door frame. Murphy looked at him in disbelief, blinking.

"Oh," Murphy finally snapped out of his daze. His face turned sad as his eyebrows creased.

"My uh, my dad used to sing it when he worked," Murphy's eyes trailed down the handle of the mop that his hands twisted painfully around.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

"Don't. Just forget it," Murphy snapped at him bitterly.

Bellamy straightened up as he pushed himself off the doorframe. He began to make his way over to Murphy. Murphy watched as he approached him, his eyes guided by Bellamy's strong jawline and flickered from his lips to his eyes.

"Hey, we've all lost people. I know how you feel," Bellamy looked down into his eyes, "They floated my mom, too, remember?"

Murphy frowned with sympathy.

"I know it sucks, and I get that holding onto things like his song helps you get through things, but you're not alone. I'm here if you need me, okay?" Bellamy rested a reassuring hand on Murphy's shoulder.

"Thanks," Murphy's smile was hesitant, not realizing that a tear had escaped one of his eyes.

Bellamy caught it with a quick swipe of his thumb across Murphy's cheek and Murphy blushed, continuing to stare up into Bellamy's eyes. He leaned down and kissed Murphy on the cheek and his hand fell from his shoulder as he backed away from him.

"You know where to find me, okay?" Bellamy winked at him before exiting the room.

Murphy stared out the empty door, still holding onto his mop, struck into a sudden daze as he lost his place for a moment. Murphy shook his head and smirked. He began to drag the mop across the floor and his father's song slowly crept back into his voice again.
