Axel leaned against the door frame. So far he'd gone unnoticed.

He watched Roxas as he twirled around his keyblade, obviously still intrigued that he has the ability to wield such a unique weapon. Roxas turned around as he swung it through the air and did a double take when he saw Axel standing there.

Roxas dropped his weapon to his side. "What is it?" He asked.

"Nothing." Axel said cooly. Roxas narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

"How long have you been standing there?"

Axel bit the inside of his cheek to stop himself from smiling. He composed himself quickly.

"Not long." He said simply, with his forced straight face.

Roxas stood; arms to his side, drumming his thumb on the keyblade. "Well?"

"Well what?"

"Why are you just standing there?" Roxas asked. "It's distracting." He added.

Axel laughed softly, his eyes travelled up Roxas, unashamedly, and he gave him a level stare.

"Why?" Roxas didn't say anything and Axel pursed his lips together briefly. "Do I make you nervous?"

Roxas stilled. If Axel didn't know any better, he'd have said the younger boy looked flushed.

"No." He said flatly.

"Good." Axel said, smiling and pushing himself off the door frame with graceful ease. "Or am I just that intimidating?"

Roxas mumbled something under his breath.

"What was that?" Axel spoke up.

"Nothing, you idiot." Roxas snapped, looking away and back to his kingdom key.

"You definitely get angry really quickly there, Roxas." Axel teased as he walked over to the lone window in the spacious room. "Isn't that an emotion?" He added, looking back to him.

"I just..." Roxas trailed off, looking away. "I still don't understand this." He said, eyeing the keyblade in his hand. "What does it all mean?" This time he spoke almost to himself. Axel watched him intently with narrowed eyes.

"There's no denying you're special, Roxas." He said. "You're not like the others."

"Yeah. Right."

"No, I think it's true." Axel said, looking at his feet and rubbing the back of his neck.

"But it's an illusion isn't it? Just nothing?" Axel looked up at him. "But even nothing is something, right?" He said as he lifted his hands to gesture around the room they were in, just one of many in Castle Oblivion.

Roxas looked a little confused at what Axel was alluding to.

He ran a hand though the top of his flame red hair as he slowly approached him.

"It goes back to what I said before. It's almost as if you do feel." Axel's green eyes glinted. "And... maybe..." He trailed off as he moved closer and saw Roxas falter. He didn't back away though. Axel knew he wouldn't. He moved closer still and when he was standing right before him; he could see that Roxas was unsure of himself.

Axel looked into his blue eyes and slowly reached out to delicately curl his hand around Roxas's neck. He dropped his gaze to his mouth as he leant forward, beginning to close the distance between them. With satisfaction, he saw him close his eyes.

"Hm." Axel gently caressed Roxas's cheek with the back of his fingers. "I thought so." He whispered. Roxas opened his eyes to see Axel smirking at him before he pulled away.

Roxas's expression was hard to gauge, it was like a mixture of anger and incomprehension at what just happened. Axel stood with his arms crossed and a self satisfied smirk still on his face. After a moment of looking at each other, Roxas found his voice.

"Forget that, Axel." He said, seriously.

Axel closed his eyes and shook his head. "Too late." He said happily, opening his eyes again. "I've already got it memorized." He continued, tapping the side of his head for effect.

Roxas, now looking shocked, needn't have worried.

It would be he who would forget.

And that was my first AkuRoku. I've been wanting to do one for a while.
I wasn't too sure if Roxas was ever at Castle Oblivion but I figured... yes, yes he was :)
