Drabble – Damned II
I have done my Kingly duties to my new wife. I have given her all of the love I can ever give her on this our wedding night. She is satisfied and sleeps by my side.
But I lie awake beside her. She is not in my thoughts anymore. The face I see before me breaks my heart. It is burned in my memory forever.
I would rather be damned to Hades for eternity than to have to see that face again, especially knowing that I was the reason for it's pain.
I kiss her goodnight and go to him.
