Disclaimer: I don't own Avatar: The Last Airbender

Dedicated to: Mai from Avatar. Her character never gets enough credit for how deep and developed she is. And yes the poem is from her perspective.

Special Dedication: TBei15 because she inspired me to write Avatar fics for the first time on this site. Thanks for supporting my work despite them not being Avatar til now. Check out her Avatar fic Harlem, it's really good. She also has a brand new one named Mystery if you want to start a new fic. You won't regret it, trust me.

Makes me want to Vomit

Money, power, status.

All these things can't make up for no love.

But we pretend they do.

Send the children to the best schools.

Hire the best nannies.

Or better yet take them with you.

But always remind them.

"You can't be a child out here with us."

You tell us about status, how if you

don't make it we'll all be destitute.

Scare us into obedience, gain power

by selling our innocence.

Then you go about claiming to be perfect parents.

But the sight of you just makes me want to vomit.

Thank you for reading and please review. I personally recommend you listen to the song 'Make we wanna die' by The Pretty Reckless (also not mine) while reading this poem. I hope you liked my poem.
