Thunder Storm
"How can you sleep through a storm?" Daphne asked, as she smiled down at Fred who had fallen asleep on her belly. A thunderstorm raged on outside, keeping Daphne awake, but somehow her gorgeous boyfriend slept through it.
She gently played with the strands of his blonde hair as he slept, her other hand resting on the bare skin of his shoulder. He breathed slowly, and his snores were soft, then a loud crack of thunder, followed by a wave of rumbles, made it impossible for her to listen to Fred's sweet snores. She was glad that she wore her jumper to bed as she felt a strong breeze coming through the window. Must get that fixed, she thought. How Fred slept shirtless every night with this breeze she didn't know, she didn't mind that he slept shirtless at all.
Another crack of thunder, Daphne smiled, looking down at Fred, "You'd be useless if our house was broken into, I bet you wouldn't even hear it." She said quietly.
Daphne looked at the alarm clock, 11:05PM, she listened to the thunder, this'll probably go on for another hour or so, she thought. At first, she just wanted to get to sleep, but now she didn't mind watching her Freddie sleep all night long.
It had been a busy day; in the morning they'd been to the store, and they returned home just as the wind picked up and it began raining. They decided it would be a good time to carry on with the redecorating of their small house. She could smell the fresh paint coming from the living room.
A lightening strike, followed by a crack of thunder, louder than the previous one. Fred grunted, moving slightly, "I would be surprised if that woke you up." She said quietly, she was not surprised when Fred wasn't woken from his sleep, she smiled at him.
After a while, the storm started to dissipate, Daphne looked at the alarm clock, 11:40PM, it wasn't completely silent, there were still quiet rumbles from outside, and Fred's snoring, but it was late, and Daphne decided that she should try and get some sleep. She laid her head back onto the soft pillow and tried to sleep.
Fred's snores stopped, and he groaned, "Daph…" He mumbled. "You ok, Freddie?" She asked, softly, she looked down at him, and he looked up at her. "What time is it?" He asked, looking at the alarm clock, "Oh, I thought it was later." He said, yawning. Daphne couldn't help but laugh, "You've been asleep for two hours and you slept through a storm." She stroked his hair, "What?" He asked, then he heard the rumbling outside, "Oh."
He crawled to her side and she laid her head on his shoulder. "You make a good pillow." He said, as they wrapped their arms around each other. "Have you been awake this whole time?" He asked. "Yeah." She yawned, "I can't believe you slept through that storm." She said smiling, "It was so loud."
"Aww, were you scared, baby?" He teased, Daphne pinched his side, "Ow." He laughed. "Get some sleep, Daph." He said softly, Daphne relaxed in his arms and closed her eyes. "Good night, gorgeous." She said quietly as she fell asleep, he yawned, "Good night, baby." He said, pressing his lips to her forehead, before he too fell asleep.
