It's Rubidium's first day of training as a cadet. She's standing at ease with the other cadets. Her cadet commander, Keith Shadis, is working his way through the soldiers, commenting on their flaws. Finally, he gets to Rubidium.
Keith - What is your name, Cadet?
Rubidium - Rubidium Alkali, sir!
Keith - And where are you from?
Rubidium - Shiganshina, sir!
Keith - You're a little on the short side, Cadet Alkali. However, your posture is excellent. You get a pass in my books.
Rubidium - Thank you, sir!
She salutes to the commander.
In the mess hall at supper time, some male cadets walk over to the table she's sitting alone at. They are almost twice her height and definitely twice her weight, if not more. One of them is fair-haired, while the other is a brunette.
Blonde - So, Cadet Alkali. Commander Shadis' favourite cadet.
Brunette - Who could blame him? She has such pretty red locks. And cute orange eyes. You'd think she wasn't human.
The brunette starts to play with her hair.
Rubidium - Get away from me.
Blonde - Oh yeah? And what are you going to do about it?
Rubidium - This is the last warning you're getting. Clear off.
Brunette - I'm so scared. You can't hurt me, cutie.
Rubidium stands up and grabs the brunette's wrist. She quickly moves behind him and twists it up his back. She then sweeps her leg, catching both of his and trips him up, causing him to land face first, knocking him out instantly. The blonde tries to get away, but Rubidium is faster. She stomps down on his foot, then swiftly moves her knee upwards, hitting him in the balls, causing him to double over in pain.
Rubidium - Imbeciles.
She sits back down and finishes her food.
Blonde - I'm telling the commander!
He limps out the room with his hands cupped around hid private parts.
