Author's note wow
So like 200 years ago (aka 2011) I wrote really awful self-insert fan fiction so now I'm going to write slightly less awful self-insert fan fiction enjoy
I'm not sure how I ended up in this position, but here I am, lying on the floor of my math classroom, staring at a pile of dust that had just been attacking me. A boy I barely know, Derek I think his name is, standing over me panting, clutching a small bronze knife.
"W-what the frick was that?" I manage to say, lip quivering.
"Lamia," Derek says, straightening up. "Vampire who preys on children."
"What?" I stare at him with disbelief and a bit of annoyance at being called a child. He grabs my hand and starts pulling me out of my math classroom.
"Come on, we gotta go, I'll explain on the way," he says.
"What! Where are you taking me?" I grab at my hand and try to pull myself out of his grip. "What's going on?"
"You're a demigod, so am I, and I'm taking you to safety."
"A… what?"
"Part human, part Greek god, let's go," we burst out of the school and he guides me to a car I presume is his. "They will explain better there." He unlocks his car and opens the passenger door.
"Why would I get in a car with a boy I barely know who is spewing nonsense?" I snap at him.
"I did just save your life." Damn. He's good. I sigh and reluctantly get in the car.
"Where are you taking me?" I ask as he begins pulling out of the school's parking lot.
"Camp Half-blood. A safe place for people like us." He seemed calmer now that we were on the road. That didn't make what he was saying any less insane though. I lean back and close my eyes, hoping I will wake up soon from this weird ass dream.
"We're here." I rub my eyes and look around. Alas, it appears this is real. I step out of the car and look around. All I see is the road and a hill next to us, so I'm not sure where "here" is. "Follow me."
We trek up the hill. My mouth gapes a bit as I take in what I see.
"Welcome to Camp Half-Blood," Derek says, pulling me forward.
