This is actually the first fanfic I've written. Constructive criticism is always welcome. Thank you.

This fanfic continues when Bardock was on his way to confront Freeza before the destruction of planet Vegeta. This is where he has a change of hart and suddenly realizes his no match for Freeza, so he decides to survive until he's strong enough to defeat Freeza.

(Freeza instead of Frieza, sorry for that I just went with it)

Chapter 1: Escape Planet Vegeta

'I can't beat him' Bardock thought to himself, almost to convince him to turn back, but he can't, the planet was at stake.

'If I can't beat Dodoria, there's no way I'd stand a chance against Freeza' Bardock examined the situation. He wanted to confront Freeza out of pure rage, it was Freeza who commanded the attack on his comrades.

Thousands of thoughts sprinted through Bardock's brain as he contemplated his options.

'Gine' his wife was for the largest portion on his mind. He couldn't find her they were send off to another place on the planet to collect meat.

His beautiful and gentle wife didn't actually believed him, but he was her husband. As stupid as the Freeza attacking planet Vegeta idea was, she had to go with the plan to send Kakarot off to a distant planet before the attack.

It's not like she really didn't believe him, she was cautious. What if the vision did not came true? The whole situation was too much dealing with it, she thought going about their daily life would get the idea out of her head.

Which confirmed Bardock's thoughts about his wife, Gine, who should have been waiting for him. She rather chose to ignore his plead for survival and went to collect meat.

He needed to go after her, but time wasn't on his side and he couldn't leave alone. 'Maybe, I should just take my chances with Freeza' was the scar faced, red bandanna wearing saiyan's conclusion, as simple as that.

Other thoughts were..

'I could take a ship and leave while I still can', 'but then my people will perish if someone didn't do something', ' but even if I took a ship they got tracking devices', 'what about my son'... 'I need to make a decision and fast' was all Bardock could think of, because time was not on his side.

He was weak, because of the fight he had with Dodoria earlier. He has psychic powers or more specific, visions, which he has no control over. He has emotional problems, cause of the fact that his home planet is on the verge of annihilation and there's nothing he can do to stop it. What makes matters worse was that no one of his race believed him, including his dear wife, with whom she shares two boys with him.

But as strange as it sounds, he was on his own.

He finally came to an abrupt conclusion without choice in the matter. The only way he can know for sure he has a chance of defeating Frieza was to survive and get stronger.

Gine I am sorry, but I swear I'll make you proud. I'll find Kakarot and train him to help me with my cause, but I'll have to leave you. He wished he could hold her like the time they send Kakarot to a secret planet.

The gentle woman made Bardock softer than he generally was. Gine gave Bardock the sort of ability to just go on and become stronger. For most of the time Bardock didn't fear death, he still doesn't, but he needs to be rational. He can still turn this oncoming slaughter around one day.

'I have to get of the planet' Bardock decided, he hated the idea of abandoning his people, his family, but has no choice since no one believed him. He also hated the idea of running away from a fight. He was no coward.

Bardock was on his way to the launching bay, still on coarse for the space pods launch station, he decided that whomever he may come across he would ask them to accompany him off the planet.

He came across many soldiers and asked them, but they all denied the offer and decided he had totally lost his marbles. Some of the other soldiers practically laughed in his face. He didn't have the time to stay and argue about the situation. If someone didn't listen to him, he continued on his path without trying to convince them.

Bardock, the loco saiyan, was it his legacy?

Bardock was losing faith that anyone would want to join him. He saw a sayian boy, maybe around about 15 years old, he looked abandoned and he was a bit skinny according to sayian standards. Anyone would do, Bardock thought.

The scar-faced saiyan had a word with the young man, the saiyan boy didn't really care if the man he was talking to was crazy or what, as long as he can travel into space was all the young saiyan cared about. The only answer the boy gave Bardock was a shrug and he followed Bardock to the launching bay.

Bardock knew there was only one more person he had faith in that would probably join him. He had to hurry he didn't know how much time was left. He recall the person that will help him.

Revlo. That was the name of the technician he was really good friends with. He knew Bardock well, they chatted before missions, after missions, if there was a chance.

He found Revlo in the booth where the technicians are always seated a few yards away from the launching bay. He called him, to a location silently enough and explained the situation.

Revlo had a hard time believing his saiyan friend, is this still the same Bardock?. Revlo starred off into space, contemplating what he just heard and if he could believe it. He knew Bardock well enough that the man before him wouldn't just come up with stories like this.

He looked back at his technician partner and thought there was no way he could let three space pods by him without the other technician reporting it. He was in a pickle,

"Bardock are you sure about this. Once this is done there is no going back?"... Bardock pause for a second to look Revlo in the eyes before answering "I am positive Rev".

Revlo made arrangements for the pods and send his technician partner to go fix a pod, just so he could be out of the way, without noticing that the aqua creature, Revlo, were planning on leaving with modified space pods.

Bardock and the young sayian waited outside while Revlo prepare the pods ready for launch. As the older and younger saiyan waited for the pods to get ready a sayian woman approached the young sayian boy and as soon as she was in speaking distance she started to attack the young boy verbally, with concern heavily in the air.

"What's going on here?" Bardock demanded, heading towards the two people in argument.

The woman turned her gaze towards the oncoming scar faced man. "Where were you planning on taking my brother, you lunatic?" The sayian woman practically yelled in his ear.

Bardock leaned back trying to protect his sensitive ears against this loud mouth saiyan woman. 'What the hell is wrong with the woman' the scar-faced saiyan warrior thought, they were standing inches away from each other, could she tone down her voice.

"I am sorry woman, but you don't understand if we don't leave planet Vegeta soon then we're all dead. Freeza is on his way to wipe us out as we speak." Bardock calmly stated, while still sounding crazy and he looked into her eyes to try and convince her of how serious this was.

She looked back into his eyes and saw no traces of insanity in them, they were truthful and honest, but what was cleanly visibly in his eyes was that look of despair.

'But this can't be true it doesn't make any sense' she thought to herself looking down as she pondered the situation.

This saiyan must be crazy, Freeza will never destroy Vegeta, what about the king he won't let this happen, or will he? The young looking mistress pondered after receiving this disturbing news.

Bardock continued to explain, that Frieza was going to destroy the planet and he would be here any second. As if on cue Frieza's ship made itself into view and she looked up. 'It can't be' was all she could come up with. How can their home planet be on the verge of destruction?

She looked back into Bardock's eyes and saw the horror as he froze when he saw the truth being unfold.

Freeza was here.

Revlo came back to announce that the pods were ready. "Come on, the pods are ready I've disabled the tracking devices and packed supplies" he yelled back, but no one was moving or reacted at his command.

Revlo kept checking if his fellow technician hasn't returned yet. He doesn't want to get in trouble which will lead to their deaths if someone reported this. Freeza would definitely pursued them.

He looked up and saw the same object that was rendering the three saiyans in front of him motionless. So he tried to get their attention again, "Bardock! We've got to go!" Revlo yelled at the top of his lunges.

That did the trick. Bardock snapped out of his trance so did the other's. "What's it going to be woman?" Bardock asked her with a worried look. This was the last chance he was going to give them, because they really had to move like in now.

Even with leaving the planet, what chance do they have on survival. If they are located, Freeza can chase them down and kill them. He didn't stand a chance. He hated that statement if he was just strong enough, just strong enough, he wouldn't have had to leave, damn it. These were thoughts racing through the vision seeing saiyan's head.

This was that Kannasa's fault. He didn't want to know about this, but how did they felt when knowing that their race was going to be destroyed by the saiyans.

Why go too much out of his way maybe he should drop everything and face Freeza, to try and give it his all. He shot this idea off as quickly as it re-entered his mind.

The saiyan woman didn't know what to think, she looked to her skinny brother. He's all she's got and she's all his got. 'He looks so innocent in this cruel universe' she thought.

She made her decision and grabbed her brother by his left arm. She knew there was no time left so she followed Bardock to the pods. They climbed in the pods and were heading to an unknown planet that only Revlo knew about.

Bardock wanted to go back to the meat distribution center, maybe Gine came back in this short while. He doubt it, but he can't gave up on his wife, mate, life partner.

Revlo had to stay behind and organize another pod for launch. Time wasn't on the blue skinned technician's side as a yellow orb was heading towards the planet with full force.

"Get another one ready just in case, I'll be right back!" Bardock shouted as he sped passed the fish-like technician and his long time non saiyan friend.

"Are you crazy!" Bardock didn't looked like he heard that last remark as he was already far from the spaceship landing strip. Revlo was aggravated now, for someone who rarely has his temperament challenged, Bardock sure did a good job.

With lightning speed never used before like this, Bardock dashed to the meat centre. He let out huge pants scanning the centre, only a handful of workers can be seen.

'No, no, no, Noooo!' She's not back. Bardock desperately shouted the word "no" in his head. With deep sadness he headed for the launching bay keeping his eye on the spaceship above them. He quickly got back.

With another two space pods ready to leave the planet without tracking devices and packed with a few supplies was ready.

"Never do that again Bardock, let's get moving." Revlo scolded the saiyan he noticed Gine not with him. He must have gone looking for her, he witness the saiyan's emotional pain partially on his face and didn't said another word.

They got into the pods and blasted off in hopes of not being discovered. Bardock seemed in another world. He seemed far from reality, his last chance and his wife was not with him.

The three saiyans and Revlo just managed to get off the planet just before the orb of energy collided with the planets surface.

Bardock could feel the after shock of the explosion. He closed his eyes. He was angry. He was burning with rage. He wanted revenge. He wanted to turn around and confront Freeza, but it's too late.

His people were gone. They didn't even stand a chance to defend themselves. If they only listened to him, he was a low-class saiyan, no one would ever take him seriously.

Gine was probably destroyed too, she was on the other side of the planet. He felt he could cry, his attachment to his mate was robbed from him. Anger, sadness, turmoil was a good way to sum up the large scar-faced saiyan's mood right now.

'Freeza you may have destroyed my race, but rest assure I will not rest until I annihilate you,' Bardock thought, before he put the stasis mode of the ship on. He had one last thought before falling into an artificial sleep mode.

'Son, I will find you and we will avenge our people.'

(Inside Freeza's ship)

Laughter filled the dark voids of space as another planet was literally turned to dust.

Freeza couldn't stop his laughter, the saiyans didn't even knew what hit them.

Oh! The sadistic cold creature wanted to see some faces before the saiyans died. He should have gone down there and eliminated the monkeys one by one, just to see some expressions, it would've been priceless.

In this overly exaggerated laughter he missed some space pods leaving the exploding planet.

"Lord Freeza what do we tell Vegeta and his monkeys still on planet Shikk?" A certain blue greenish man asked tentatively.

"Oh my, the monkey prince would be heartbroken, don't worry I'll tell him that his people got destroyed by a meteor," the agonizingly painful voice of Freeza filled the air.

(Somewhere on planet Shikk)

Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz was still on a distant planet, already in the planet trade business. The three saiyans, especially the prince had no idea of this genocide. His people were gone, he could only feel the connections in his mind to his people disappeared.

Something happened and he knew it. They have to get back as soon as possible and find ou what had happened. He could feel this disappear of his people through his mental telepathic links.

(Back on Freeza's spaceship)

Freeza wants to see Vegata's little face when he finds out that he was a prince of a dead race. The thought gave Freeza a new sets of laughs that gives this moment a new sense of humor.

What luck, still nobody detected the four space pods leaving this galaxy and on their way off to a new planet.

Will this lack of focus comes back to haunt Freeza. Well only time will tell, maybe one day a saiyan warrior will destroy this sick, sadistic planet killer and planet dealer.

Someone has to destroy Freeza and put an end to the universe bleeding out civilizations.

Who will come to the universe's aid?
