A/N: Hey guys, I just felt like doing another Dean/Angelina drabble, the sister/brother post-war relationship (AU where Fred survives and is with Angie). It's good procrastination for the exam I have tomorrow as well. Enjoy!
The breakthrough
I sighed as I entered my apartment. Another day gone, another unsuccessful venture into selling some of my paintings. I simply don't get it, they're good paintings, I've worked hard to get them to the quality they are. Maybe I need an agent, I can't afford one right now, but if they make my paintings sell, it'll be worth it.
A tapping sound on my window distracted me momentarily. I looked over and smiled, seeing my half-sisters owl, Benetar. Walking over I opened the window and took the letter from her, named after muggle rock chick Pat Benetar. I opened the letter from Angelina, feeling guilty that I haven't contacted her in the past few weeks.
Dearest brother Dean,
How are you? And Parvati? I'm pissed at you, why haven't you contacted your awesome Holyhead Harpy Chaser of a sister for the past 3 weeks? But, despite me being pissed at you, I will forgive you if you give me a massive favour.
As you will know, we have the championship game on Saturday, and if we win, we need a painter to do the team portrait as the usual one has broken her hand, and Gwenog was stressing about it. I, knowing your talents as my baby brother suggested you, and your ex backed me up, saying that you were the perfect choice.
Come over to mine when you read this and tell me yes.
Your favourite sister,
Angelina.
I looked at the clock and saw that it was only 7, if I got there now I may get out of cooking dinner for myself, so I disapparated there, smiling on the inside as this may be the break I needed. When I got into the living room, I smelled my sisters cooking from the kitchen, and it was my favourite, chicken schnitzel. I smiled, walking in and hugging her from behind.
"Hey big sis, how are you?" I asked, hoping that I'd reduce her wrath. Of course, I didn't really expect it to.
"You didn't expect that to work, did you?" she quipped, "but I'm good baby bro. You staying for dinner?"
"No, I didn't expect it to work, and only if I'm not a burden on you and Fred. Also, I will do the team portrait, it may be the breakthrough I need."
She smiled, turning and hugging me. "It will be. More rejections today?" She asked tentatively.
I sighed, "Yes, unfortunately. I need an agent to sell these. But I don't have the money for it. Maybe I could talk to Harry about spending some of his trillions of galleons on one of my paintings." I joked.
She pulled back and looked at me, "He's the type of guy who'd do that, especially for a good friend like you Dean. It's worth a go at the very least."
I smiled as she did and then felt somewhat wet all over my body. I laughed, turning towards my sister's boyfriend. "Not your best work Fred, I've copped worse from you. How are you and your rascal of a brother? Business booming?"
"We are excellent Dean. And I felt like the cliché prank today, I don't know why," he answered.
"Dinner's ready you two, come on, let's eat," my sister called to us.
We ate at the table, taking animatedly. I loved it when we ate together, only thing missing was my girlfriend.
It was the best thing since I found out my other family were found dead during the war. So peaceful, so homely.
A/N2: I love writing these two and their relationship. Anyway, please review.
