Nao sat on the roof yawning. "God, it's so boring today." Reaching into the large pile of gifts next to her, she dragged out a sleeping husky pup by the leg. The dog yelped and growled at her, baring its miniature fangs. "What the hell," she muttered. "I don't even like dogs. I'm going to get Natsuki back for this."

Groaning, she stretched her stiff back. The fact that she had ditched almost an entire day's classes didn't really bother her. The fact that she was getting bored out of her skull did. "Wonderful," she muttered. "It's supposed to be my birthday and all I get is a bunch of weird presents and a complete day of boredom. I thought that birthdays were supposed to be fun."

"You do realize that you're going to get in major trouble for this endless ditching, right?" Nao yelped in shock. She hadn't even realized that she had company until the other had spoke.

"Okuzaki! Don't go around scaring people like that!"

"....I thought that you knew that I was here."

"If I knew, then I would have told you to get your ass down here."

Akira ignored Nao's outburst and jerked her head at the pup sleeping by Nao's feet.

"What's with the dog?"

Nao grimaced. "It's that idiot Kuga's idea of a gift for me." She indicated the presents strewn around her and then squinted up at Akira. "I noticed that your present isn't among these. Didn't know that you were that selfish."

Akira scowled at the redhead. "Shut it, Yuuki. And since when was it my obligation to send you presents on your birthday?" Nao rolled her eyes. "Since now Okuzaki. So, where's my present?" Akira rolled her eyes and hopped down to lean against the wall next to Nao. "Don't hold your breath. Wait, on second thought, please do."

Nao just grinned and closed her eyes. "That's my line. I only give out orders, I never listen to them." She sat there for a few moments, basking in the warmth of the sun. Suddenly, she felt Akira loom over her. Opening one eye, she stared lazily up at Akira. "What do you want, Okuzaki?"

Crouching in front of her, Akira looked away and back. Nao huffed in annoyance. "If there's nothing that you want to say, then go away and stop bothering me." Settling back down, she prepared to go back to sleep. A husky voice cut through her senses and Nao felt a hand touch her cheek and then slide down to take hold of her chin. "It's not nothing."

Opening her eyes, she realized Akira's face was way too close to her own for comfort. "H-Hey, what are you doing?"

"Giving you your present."

Nao opened her mouth, only to have Akira's lips descend over her own, effectively cutting off her words. The redhead promptly froze in shock at the unexpected contact.

Akira pulled away and stood. Nao stared at her in surprise. "Well," she managed to say at last. "That was certainly unexpected. You could use a little more practice though..."

So saying this, she stood as well and neared Akira. Akira turned red and promptly jumped off the school roof and was gone. Nao pouted. "Aaw, just when things were getting good too." Sighing regretfully, she returned to her original spot and prepared to go back to sleep. Just before she fell asleep, a single thought invaded her mind. Maybe this isn't such a bad birthday after all...
