Tenten/Hinata for Tim! ...since he was the one who conned me into writing the pairing into Vie - which I should probably work on...

Beauty and Bravery

She couldn't remember exactly when it was they'd gone on that mission together that encouraged them to start talking. Hinata was quiet and Tenten was boisterous and she ended up giving herself a mission - to bring Hinata out of her shell, because she and Neji both deserved to know each other better.

Tenten had grown up around boys. She always played hard with them, trained with them and grew up with them. Hinata grew up a girl of a famous clan, where a lot of her training was about beauty and grace. Flowers and tea. Tenten had never wasted her time with that. She always passed those missions anyway - but she didn't have to enjoy it.

In the end, Hinata reminded Tenten of herself, in some sense shielded and lonely. Hinata loved someone and didn't have the voice to say how she felt. Tenten had so much voice and courage but no one in particular. It had originally been for Neji, but when Tenten felt Hinata opening up to her, she found herself feeling powerful and new. She would take Hinata here or there, and the girls were beginning to wonder where they would go.

Tenten trained Hinata as best she could on how to use her weapons better until the both of them collapsed in the tall grass of the sparse fields of Konoha and stared up at the clouds through the trees. Tenten was so much force and so little gentleness. Hinata was so much grace and so little brashness. Chocolate brown eyes fixated on Hinata's lavender-white as they stared up at the sky, squinting against the welcome brightness of the sun. Standing with this new girl, Tenten didn't have a rival. Tenten could be a girl, rather than one of the guys. Hinata didn't need a bright blonde whirlwind to protect her while Tenten was right there.

It had originally been for Neji, but now Tenten wasn't sure if she could let his cousin go.
