Title: Anywhere

Character: Other Tributes

My footsteps slapped against the wooded path, small debris snapping up to attack my legs. The scent of pine didn't heal my burning lungs; I was breathing too fast for my body to absorb any of the oxygen it required. I felt my muscles begin to chew at themselves for lack of fuel. It was almost more painful to stop, but relief swept through body before I could regret stopping. My mind knew I couldn't stop for long. Some part of me always knew.

For those few hours I allowed myself to sleep, propped up against an old oak, tall and strong over me, much too small in comparison. I had no dreams, only the continuous mantra fueling my trek:

He could find me anywhere.
