The Raccoons

"I absolutely forbid it Lisa!" George Raccoon shouted at his daughter Lisa pounding the table for emphasis. "A tattoo is not something a young lady like you should have!"

"It's my body and I'm an adult! I should be the one to decide if I want something on it and I want a tattoo!" Lisa shouted back.

"Lisa you are being ridiculous! Nicole talk to her!"

"Listen to your father Lisa." Nicole tried to persuade Lisa by talking calmly.

"I'm not the one being ridiculous, he is!" Lisa shouted still angry.

At that moment George's Aunt Gertie walked into the kitchen, "What is going on here?" The elder raccoon asked.

"We are trying to talk some sense into Lisa. She wants to get a tattoo." George said much more calmly to his own aunt.

"What kind of tattoo?" Aunt Gertie asked.

"Just something really tasteful, A butterfly on my left breast." Lisa touched her chest to emphasize that it was not any big deal.

"Could you say something to her Aunt Gertie?" George hoped that maybe Lisa would listen to her great aunt."

"Good for you Lisa! Do it!" Aunt Gertie said in encouragement.

"What! Aunt Gertie surely you are joking." George had hoped for backup not a stab in the back.

"Oh George, a tattoo is no big deal I even have a couple of my own. Do you want to see them Lisa?" Aunt Gertie was still enthused with Lisa's decision.

"I sure would Aunt Gertie!" Lisa said with a smile happy to have finally gotten some adult backing.

Aunt Gertie unbuttoned her shirt part way to expose her tattoo. "What do you think?"

Lisa's expression turned from happiness to perplexion, "Is, that, the 9/11 attacks?"

The smile disappeared from Aunt Gertie's face,"it's a butterfly, just like you want to get!" Aunt Gertie was now a little miffed, "Let me show you the chain of life I got tattooed around my bellybutton.

Bert sat next down next to Lisa, "OK Lisa, will you tell me why we had to go to church today?"

"Bert, I saw the gates of Hell."

The End

AN: This is just a little something I wrote here at work when for some odd reason the topic of tattoos came up. For those of you looking for Chapter 5 of Pay the Piper. It is ready and will be up March 15.
