The First Thanksgiving
It was the October of 1621 and a festival was to take place to celebrate the first harvest of the New World. The main event of that festival was a feast that would last three whole days. Many of the pilgrims and Native American would be attending, which was a big deal because if the feast could lead to a peaceful relationship between the pilgrim and the Natives. There was one man in particular, however, that could not stand the Natives. That man was Matthew "Duke" Donovan, and he believed firmly that pilgrims should not interact with the Natives because he thought less of the Natives. Of all the Natives, he could not stand one particular person out of them all. It was the Indian with the tribe name of "Love for Mankind", but he was given the name of Manny by the Pilgrims. Manny was very obnoxious to Duke by always talking out of term and not knowing how to properly speak English. Duke had had enough and was concocting a plan to get rid of Manny before the festival.
Twenty-four hours before the festival begins. Manny is talking to his best friend, Tom Tom, who was a slave he befriended and freed and who is now being treated as a Native. Manny was telling Tom Tom all about the festival and how they should both go and celebrate the harvest. Tom Tom was never fond of celebrations. Whenever he went to a party, he always left halfway thru because of something very small upsetting him, leaving the other party goers disappointed. Manny convinced him to go this festival, as it was a once in a lifetime chance. Tom Tom reluctantly agreed, but he knew in his heart that there was something bad that was going to happen at the festival.
Two hours before the festival begins, it was the day of destiny. The town is being visited by the Natives who are awaiting the beginning of the feast. However, Manny and Tom Tom are nowhere to be found. As it turns out, the dessert that they were going to bring had been mysteriously destroyed during the night. They had nothing to offer to the feast! They could not just go without a dish as that would be extremely rude. They needed to create a new dish fast. Manny started to ask Tom Tom if they had a chance of going.
"Chance...I got it! Chaunce Cream!" exclaimed Tom Tom. Manny was confused by what Tom Tom had just said. Tom Tom explained how back in his home country of Chad, which he loves greatly, they used to make a delightful cream that was said to be a "food of love". At this point, Manny was desperate to do anything in order to go. Tom Tom gave Manny a list of exotic ingredients, and Manny brought them all accordingly. Tom Tom started to combine all the ingredients together, but a ritual had to be done in order for the cream to be the best. Tom Tom called for the Native priest and he started singing a slow melody. Tom Tom asked Manny for this dance and he accepted. They danced slowly as the cream was brewing.
"Oh Messiah, Oh Messiah...You, me, and Chaunce Cream...You, me and Chaunce Cream" the priest sung with his angelic voice. The cream was finished. It was time to go to the festival. As they entered the dining area, they walked past Duke who was in complete shock that Manny and Tom Tom had made it. Tom Tom had a hint that it was Duke who destroyed their dish, so Tom Tom offered Duke some of his delicious Chaunce Cream. At first, Duke declined because he only ate foods that were necessary such as bread and cheese, but he finally budged. Duke had a taste, but something went wrong. Duke's eyes started to melt, and his ears started to bleed. Duke did not know that Chaunce Cream is only to be eaten when the heart is not filled with evil. High Chief Chad gave out a hearty laugh, "Should not have eaten the Chaunce Cream, boy."
