Hi guys! First fanfiction. 8D If you could give me any critiques, that'd be great! Thanks! Also, I may be writing mainly Season 0 fanfiction. c8 I'll add my own twists as well. This takes place right after Yami Yugi beats Ushio in the Shadow Game in episode 1. Find out what really happens after Yami is done taking control! Or well, my version of it. Enjoy!

The sun began peaking over the clowds, creating a luminous orange glow over the streets of Domino City. Wind blew silently across two bodies lying on the ground. One was Yugi Mutou, a sophmore who attended Domino High. The other was Ushio, a hall monitor, who went to Domino High as well. Yugi was lying on the ground, knocked out cold. The light beamed onto his face.

Squinting, the boy sat up and rubbed one eye, trying to adjust to the light. He stood and gasped, looking at his watch and realizing what time it was, but almost collasped from the wounds he had recieved from Ushio beating him before he mysteriously blacked out. He looked to his right to find an astonishing surprise.

Ushio had been knocked unconsious next to him.

He was shivering and whining the words; "I'm scared... Help me..." His uniform seemed to be soaking wet, as if he fell into the school's pool or something.

Yugi did not know what to do, or what had happened. He thought for a while before walking up to Ushio, gently shaking him. "Ushio...?" Ushio seemed to snap back into consiousness for one moment before scowling at Yugi. "You did this to me." He cursed under his breath. Yugi slowly backed away and ran. Everything was just too overwhelming. He returned back to the Kame Game shop, where he lived with his grandfather, Sugoroku, and his mother, who was barely around anymore. He managed to silently slip in until he heard a loud yell.

"YUGI MUTOU!"

Yugi very quickly shut his eyes. It was his mother.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!" She quickly noticed how badly bruised he was. She screamed and ran over to aid her son. "What happened to you?!"

"I'm fine, mom." He muttered. His mother always embarassed him in these kind of situations. He sighed while his mother tended to his wounds, but flinched a little when she came in contact with the more painful wounds. Yugi looked over to the clock. 7:45! He looked back at his mother, looking rather paniced. "Mom, I'm going to be late for school!"

Yugi's mom sighed and stepped away from her son. "Take it easy then." She said.

At the instant Yugi ran outside, the creaking of stairs had given away that Sugoroku had awoken. "Where's Yu-" He asked, but quickly took his question back seeing Yugi run out the door. Yugi's mom looked at him worriedly. "Have you noticed that Yugi has been acting strange...?" Sugoroku had just nodded and didn't say a word - he had a feeling that he knew what it was.
