Chikorita and Typhlosion
A Love Story
"Hey, Chikorita! Wait for me! Where are you going?" Typhlosion asked.
"Why would you care? You've never waited for me," Chikorita said bitterly.
"I- what's wrong, Chika? Why are you so… so angry?" He wondered.
"Nothing is wrong. I have a mission, and I am going to complete it- by myself. You can go do whatever it is you do with Lopunny every day." Chikorita growled.
"But—Chikorita—" Typhlosion pleaded.
"No. I've had enough of this. Every day, we argue. Why can't you just let me do my own thing for once?" And with that, Chikorita ran down the road toward the cave.
"Oh, Chikorita… Just be careful…" Typhlosion murmured.
He turned towards TreasureTown. As he walked up the hill, he was met by a Lopunny.
"Hey, Phlo. Whatcha doin'? Are ya running after that little Chikorita again? Ya know she doesn't like ya. I don't know why you even bother with her, when the Pokemon ya really care about is right here." Lopunny sang.
"No, Lopunny. I can't do this anymore. I don't like you, not like you want me to. I love Chikorita. I always have, but I didn't know it until now…"
"Oh, she'll be alright on her own, Phlo. Let her be. That is, unless she went into that Mystery Dungeon. It's full of Ice types like Glaceon…" Lopunny trailed off. She watched in amusement as Typhlosion ran along the path towards the cave.
"Well, finally, he realized that I'm not the one." She smirked.
Typhlosion ran into the cave, thinking of how he and Chikorita had always been together. They had formed an Exploration Team called Team Burning Leaf. They had gone everywhere and done everything from taking back his Relic Fragment to defeating Darkrai… they had always been together. They had started to break apart when he had evolved into Quilava, and then Typhlosion, and she had chosen to stay a Chikorita. But they had always been friends. He wasn't about to stop that tradition now. As he reached the final floor of the Dungeon, he saw an Articuno and two Glaceon battling with Chikorita. One of the Glaceon used Ice Beam, the other, Ice Shard. The Articuno used Blizzard. Chikorita couldn't dodge. There was no way. So he used Flamethrower. HE took out both of the Glaceon with one hit, and leapt in front of Chikorita, taking the full force of Articuno's Blizzard.
Chikorita gasped. "Typhlosion… You came!" She leapt up into the air and hit Articuno with several Magical Leaves. Typhlosion recovered from the Blizzard, which hadn't done much damage in the first place, and fired an Overheat at Articuno. It fainted.
"Chikorita! Are you all right?" he asked.
"Now that you're here, I'm fine!" She said. But she wasn't fine. She tried to take a step forward and dropped to one knee, wincing.
"Oh, Chikorita! We have to get you out of here!" Typhlosion said.
"There's an OranBerry in my bag. If you wouldn't mind grabbing it…"
"Of course not. Here." He handed the berry to her. She ate it happily.
"Typhlosion, I've always wanted to tell you. I… I love you."
"I love you, too." He gave her a hug, and the two best friends walked out of the cave, into the sunset, and into a new life—together.
