I have another story, Dark Blossom, and this poem describes how one of my main characters, Tigerheart, feels about his mentor's death. Please review and tell me what you think. This poem just jolts Tigerheart into perspective, it lets you see that he's not truly evil.

Tigerheart's Regrets

You believed in me, my promise showed

I tried to keep up, you never slowed

So I kept your pace, and learned to survive

Yet tragedy strikes you, only I am alive

You taught me, you trained me

You fought me, you strained me

You molded me into a stealthy fighter

But in the end, Death was mightier

Your words still ring, your promise in my ears

"I have faith in you; you will lead in your years."

But I let you fall, it is I to blame

It is the icy cold in me that drives my shame

I stood there, just feet away

While you fought to keep Death at bay

I could have saved you, I could have tried

My soul sheds tears of blood I cry

Your faith in me was what saved my life

And carried me through hardships and strife

What was once of passion, never alone

Now hunts himself with a heart of stone

I failed your trust, your passion, your truth

That you placed in me while I reached my youth

I know I could have done better, yet

This is just another regret
