The bright moon is shining, I think of you

And all of the things that we've been through.

That dark, fateful night that changed my life

The sting of the blade, as sharp as a knife.

The monsters kept coming, from shadows and more

Attacking the innocent, the rich and the poor.

I vowed to protect them; you stood by my side,

I heard your heart breaking when I nearly died.

I missed your presence as it faded to white,

So I started my training, to conquer, to fight.

I entered your world and made my way through

And wouldn't give up until I found you.

And when I did, it was just like old times,

Like before I knew you committed a crime.

When I woke up, you were gone,

And I trained even harder, from dusk until dawn.

I swore to my soul, the next time we met

I'd set you free, and settle my debt.

So I flew through the sky to stop your death

And the sight of you stole my breath.

I felt so much pain, an intense infliction.

I had to stop your crucifixion.

And that I did, just in time

I looked at your eyes, as you did mine.

You scolded me harshly to send me away,

But I wasn't leaving, I was there to stay.

I destroyed it all with you in my arm

And 'tossed' you to safety, you were unharmed.

I finally did it, but over, it was not.

I had to make sure you wouldn't get caught.

I fought off your brother and let out a shout

But learned a stronger enemy was lurking about.

And there you were on top of that hill

And my heart stopped beating, my blood stood still.

I tried to protect you, but quickly I fell.

If this was heaven, then what was hell?

The bloodshed continued, and then he took you

To remove that cursed hogyoku.

You let out a scream and fell to your knees,

I prayed you were alive, please oh please.

But you were still with me, what a relief.

But the man got away, and caused too much grief.

A few days went by; it was time to go home.

But I couldn't find you, only one place to go.

When you spoke, you sounded so sad

Almost as if you thought I'd be mad.

You wanted to stay, I understood.

I held back the sadness as best as I could.

We said our goodbyes, such a bittersweet end.

I'll never forget you, my violet eyed friend.

I'm back in my world, but the monsters still come.

A soul reapers work is never done.

So I'll pick up this sword and I will fight

Against all evil, protect what's right

And keep you close inside my heart.

So far away, yet never apart.
