Hello!

This is just an extremely short (140 words heh heh heh) drabble about Rose's thoughts on her wedding day. I don't think it would have been all smiles.

Disclaimer - I still don't own Titanic.

Enjoy! And review ;)

Husband and Wife

Jack's hands are warm and fit perfectly in yours.

Two empty spaces where your bridesmaids should be.

His gaze is on you, piercing blue instead of dark and cruel which was what was originally planned.

Somewhere, your mother weeps.

His ring on your finger, yours on his.

There are four others in the room, and you hardly know any of them.

"Do you, Jack..."

No-one to give you away.

"I do."

Jack's alone, without his best man.

"Do you, Rose..."

But you are together, and what else do you really need?

"I do."

No cheers just a small ripple of applause from the strangers.

You have just married a penniless drifter, have no remaining family or friends in the World, and have no guarantee of a safe or lavish future, which was promised to you.

And you couldn't be happier.

Fin.
