An Autumn Whisper

a.n.- This story includes mostly the Jonas Brothers, but it does include Miley/Hannah Montana and Lilly. I hope you guys like it!

Victoria Colleen Rogers walked down the pathway that extended from the parking lot of her school, that led onto the sidewalk she would be following to get to Bread Co. Her newspaper meeting ended on time, yes, but as the editor she stayed later than the staff. Maybe too late, because it was five twenty-three, twenty three minutes past the time everyone else had left.

She has been told that she could get absorbed in things easily. It probably was true, but she didn't think of it as a bad thing. No, not a bad thing at all. She thought that being absorbed in stuff helped not only her, but the world. Her, because she wouldn't be bored, and the world, because she would shut up. Being quiet doesn't suit her (or her opinions) that's why she started a newspaper at her school (technically, there already was one, but they printed out a sheet of paper maybe once a year, it was c-r-a-p).

Most of her friends were on staff at the newspaper, partly because they were her friends, and she picked who she wanted on the team, but they were excellent writers. Their names are Emily, Falon, Gena, and Kara. And as a matter of fact, she was walking down to Bread Co. to meet them right then.

Their local Bread Company (formally known as St. Louis Bread Company, or Panera Bread to the rest of the country) was a ten minute walk from school, and a lot of kids walked down there after school on Fridays, but by now they'd be gone, home for dinner.

Every Friday was newspaper meeting say, from 2:50-5:00. It was the highlight of her week at school, she looked forward to it all week. It was the time she was in charge, not the popular kids, she told them what to do, not the other way around.

In the looks aspect, she should be popular, but the hierarchy or her grade was set nine years ago, in kindergarten.

Uh yeah, you heard me, if you were popular at age 5, you were set for life.

Or until eighth grade.

Yeah. But her looks were magazine cover ready, she had flowing honey blond hair (a few inches below her shoulders), a skinny 5'5 frame, and bright blue eyes. But she was a 'loser' not even in the middle category.

Victoria (known as Vee to some), zipped up her jacket and hurried her pace until she got to the end of the path. A large oak tree stood next to her, the colors of the leaves gradating from dark orange at the top, to a light green on the bottom. If you looked carefully, up to down, the color changed so quietly and slightly, that it was almost like a whisper, An autumn whisper, She thought, how understated yet beautiful...She pondered the tree for at least a minute, not even being able to move on until her phone chimed, signaling that she had an email.

Vee flipped the screen around (It's a sidekick lx) and read the message. Her friends were still waiting for her at Bread Co. She typed in her reply on the keypad while walking briskly to where the sidewalk met the path she was on. When she was finished typing, and about to hit send, she heard footsteps, speeding up to a run. Her mind not yet matching the movements of her feet, Vee took a step further and hit the 'send' button.

That's when she felt someone crash into her, "What the hell!" she screamed, the person was slowly getting up, obviously a little shocked from the collision as well. They dusted off their pants and held a hand out to Vee, who was holding her head, which had been knocked on the ground.

She grudgingly accepted the hand, still not over the crash, "I'm really sorry," The person said, who was now identified as a boy about her age, "I didn't see you coming from the path,"

'No duh,' she had wanted to say, but she had looked up at his face... and she was speechless.
