It was just hitting 1:30 pm in New York City, Amanda Rollins was still at her desk finishing up a case involving a child whom died in the states care, the child was petite with big blue eyes and long blonde hair; she smothered to death by her foster mother, in a fit of rage. Amanda being a detective in the 'Special Victims Unit', has seen many cases of child abuse and neglect and even murder. The young detective has a young child of her own, 2 year old Jesse, the slightest thought of that happening to her babygirl made her stomach twist into knots. Her daughter meant the world to her, Jesses smile shines bright as the sun and as big as the moon. When the young toddler looks up with her eyes full of promise it gives Amanda a sense of pride and a burst of happiness shoots through her chest. Amanda is raising Jesse on her own; she has no family, they're all in Atlanta. Rollins family disowned her after the Atlanta deputy chief Patton, told the whole station and her town that she tried to get with a married man. She didn't... she was attacked by the man... By man she meant her own boss. She was moved from Atlanta to New York and now works with the NYPD 1PP, as a detective. She's been in New York for 9 years.

Around 9:15pm Detective Rollins was so hard at work she didn't hear Lieutenant Olivia Benson say her name. "Rollins, you can finish this tomorrow, go home be with Jesse. That child needs her mother, one day she'll be all grown up and you'll wish you've had spent more time with her". What the lieutenant had said was very true, Amanda has been so busy with work she hasn't gotten to spend any time with her daughter. "Actually... Liv I was wondering if I could get a day off to spend time with Jesse, it's just been so long and I don't want her to think I'm too busy for her." Rollins said with tears threatening to fall down from her porcelain doll like skin. Olivia nodded and said that it was fine and to get home safe. Safe... Amanda was never safe. Safe is such a foreign word to the young detective. "Will do liv, and you as well" Rollins replied to Olivia while grabbing her jacket and keys eager to get home to her baby girl, not knowing that it maybe the last time she'll see her young daughter alive again. If only the young detective could freeze time, but little did she know her biggest fear was about to become reality.
