It is twenty minutes past eight on a testing day. Sweet, more time to study! My peers are talking and being surprisingly obnoxious and roughty before the PACT. I

glance around the room as I pull out my study guides. They really should be I glance over my notes, (which are written in Greek in case you were

wondering) I wonder how Chiron expects any demigod to pass any amount of test while fighting

monsters which (if you are lucky) results in a expulsion from the institution. Mrs. Chamberlain walks in with the many tests in her hands. I feel like I am taking a lie

detector test. If my grade is low enough, could the monsters discover me? Is Mrs. Chamberlain a monster? Are my peers monsters? I suspect that I will find out soon.

I hardly finish the english section before the time is up. My logic and editing skills are skewed whenever I attempt to read English. I am an imposter. I have to be an

imposter in order to feel this feeling of fear, of dread. I do not fit their standard; I still want to be like everyone else. I mean, sure I have killed my fair shares of

monsters in my lifetime (and more in the future I expect) but never have I succeeded in deciphering text. My monster is the test that lies before me with its mocking

name. I complete the math section in one third of the time. It is important to show aptitude in something when taking the allowance for time in mind, even if you select

the wrong answers. They cannot see me in any nervous state. I am Annabeth Chase, a daughter of Artemis. Still, here I am forced to live a double life.

With the test finally completed at the end of sixth, I return to my dorm. I drop my book bag to the floor wonder what Percy is up to. Shardea my roommate gallops in

with a giant smile on her face.

"Annabeth! Anna Beth! Guess what! Jordan likes you!" Jordan is a cute, shy and chubby but I am already in a relationship so… "Shardea, I am already dating someone!"

I say with a grin. She looks at me with disbelief. I know I am not that popular yet I could have sworn I was very pretty. "Yes, I do. He lives in Kentucky!" I smile to

cover up the half lie. Percy could be anywhere right now. He is out of school rescuing other demigods. "What is his name? Show me a picture!" She sits down next to me

impatiently waiting for me to put my button phone into my hand. "Go on tell me." I pick up my phone and show her an ugly selfie of Percy. "His name is Percy. He is in

Kentucky right now." Of course I have better photos of him on my phone. There are pictures of him carrying Riptide with Tyson and Grover. "It cannot be possible! How

did you two meet?" I am prepared for another half lie. "Percy was having a hard time at school and I helped him out." I know she is jealous. I can see it in her eyes.

"Wow! That is wow, crazy, wow!" She is laughing so hard she can hardly breath. At this point I am ready to fight a monster. Anything to be rid of her presence. I'd r

ather be at Camp Half Blood.
