Recommended background music: Rameses B – Moonlight (feat. Miyoki). It was the song that sparked this fic! Set this on repeat.

After things have settled down, Surly and Andie decided to have their first date hill-top, on a mountain near the park. Once they reach the peak, they were caught by the breath of the mountain; the scenery, the scent of wild herbs and flowering plants. They found a spot and lay down, gazing at each other and imagine tangling stars in each other's lashes. "What a beauty you are!" Surly said, "You too, thanks for that", replied Andie. It was a breezy night, especially the hilltop that they feel the wind as if they were wearing it in their fur.
"Remember those adventures and experiences that we all carried over places? The moments together, they are so memorable….." said Surly. "You know, those words and everything, they kind of settled in my chest and mind", the other squirrel said. They started telling stories that their heartstrings are tugged, expressing feelings while looking at puddles of rain that reflects the moonlight. "Hey, I have something for you", the female said. "And what's…" Surly couldn't finish his sentence as Andie made their lips joined together as they're glued. At that moment they lie alone, caressing each other while still lying on the ground and their lips joined.
Minutes later, they broke apart for air. "Wow, that's amazing", they both said together in unison. Sitting together on a rock now, Surly said: "We go about our daily lives understanding almost nothing of the world. We give little thought to the machinery that generates the sunlight and makes life possible. To the gravity that glues us to the earth that would otherwise send us spinning off into space. Or to the atoms which we are made, and on whose stability that we fundamentally depend?" Andie joined in, they both reciting together: "Few of us spend much time wondering why nature is the way it is. Where the cosmos came from, whether it was always there. If time one day flow backward, or whether there are ultimate limits to what we can know. What is the smallest piece of matter? Why we remember the past and not the future? And why there is a universe?"
Andie exclaimed: "Wow, seems like you know science really well! That's Carl Sagan right?" Surly said: "Thanks and yes, he's the scientist that inspires me the most in astronomy and natural sciences." Again, they were caught in the breath of the mountain, hearing each other's voices in the air. For the second time, they stare at each other's lashes as if they were a sky of tangling stars, reminiscing moments together now and before that settled in them, tugging their heartstrings. "Isn't all this combined to be a beautiful sight, including you and I?" said Andie admiring puddles of rain that reflects the moonlight. They lie alone admiring the sky for a while before returning to the park.
Phew, story's ended. Having a hard time? I purposely made the song/lyrics in sync with the story, even included lyrics like the speech in it! Timing isn't done well, as the story is longer and more detailed (not much details as it may broke the sync even worse).
I don't own any characters in the story. Characters (Surly, Andie) and movie (The Nut Job) owned by Gulfstream Pictures, Redrover International and Toonbox Entertainment. Lyrics/song owned by Rameses B, Miyoki and CD Baby. Speech by Carl Sagan (1934-1996, American astronomer, science popularizer, science communicator).
