The Wind Cries Mary

E/O Drabble Challenge, word: worship

Summary: If your life turns from bad to worse in a mere moment, it's hard to make the right decision. Cause everything you want is to feel the life come back – no matter for how long...

Set at 4.03, "In the Beginning"

A/N: Worship – so many roads to go, and one of them was grabbing me, dragging me to that episode, that moment, and as I watched the episode again I thought: God, that's been a series to worship, a long time ago :-) (Not that I'm complaining. Me? Never!)

She's sitting on the damp ground, wanting to tear her heart out and throw it into the familiar face at her side talking of unthinkable decisions with a smug smile. But his poisonous lies are already taking root and she knows she's got to do it. Because the broken body in her arms is the love of her life. Not just an idol to worship, not just a path into her picked-fence-dream. No. He's the one, and she's willing to sacrifice anything to get him back. So she nods, kissing the thing with her father's face to seal the deal.

A/N 2: Do you know the lines of Hendix's song? It's weird how well they seem to fit...

After all the jacks are in their boxes
And the clowns have all gone to bed
You can hear happiness staggering on down the street
Footprints dressed in red
And the wind whispers Mary

A broom is drearily sweeping
Up the broken pieces of yesterday's life
Somewhere a queen is weeping
Somewhere a king has no wife
And the wind, it cries Mary

The traffic lights they turn up blue tomorrow
And shine their emptiness down on my bed
The tiny island sags downstream
'Cause the life that lived is, is dead
And the wind screams Mary

Will the wind ever remember
The names it has blown in the past
And with his crutch, it's old age, and it's wisdom
It whispers no, this will be the last
And the wind cries Mary
