Castiel sat on the bench, watching the children play. Dean had left after they'd finished their discussion. It's true, he wasn't a hammer. He'd tried to be, tried so very hard, because it was easier just to believe, easier to blindly follow commands. Questions just complicated everything. But lately he was finding that increasingly difficult. His world was collapsing around him.

And one situation bothered him more than most. Samuel Winchester. After all Castiel had heard, he was supposed to be the antichrist. But he'd looked Sam in the eye, tasted his soul, and sensed nothing evil in the boy.
