A Tattooed Eye

Flames of woes, fire that grows

Feeding on what was dear

Time froze; became fragile as a rose

A house, a home, a family disappeared

-

The first; where it all began

Adopted for a fortune vast

Forced to obey the evil man

With a strange and deadly past

-

Serpents echo within the dead

Tainted blood of a man

Venomous traitor, away he fades

Three children alone understand

-

Seas of demise, winds that rise

A boat, a haven for three (then four)

Sham of lies, anguished death cries

Evil eye escapes once more

-

Shattered glass, and then a trance

Labour on logs and wood

Spell unbroken through inordinate chance

Yet none could capture him; none ever could

-

Orphans living in the Orphan Shack

World so painful, world so sore

Pounding away on the running track

Life's a torture, life's a bore

-

Stairways of life, full of gloom

A false one passed off as true

Go down to see what is their doom

Forever in the dark hue

-

Crows echo the words of friends

Lies and secrets that hide what's real

Poems that one unwitting bird sends

Truth dawns, and clouds unfurl

-

Thrust into another life

Of white coats, liars, and a vital page

Almost severed by Fate's knife

Escaped once more from a count's rage

-

Way of life is to disguise

Hide from him while in plain sight

Quell freakish beasts' hunger cries

Survival precedes an even worse plight

-

Frozen rivers, high peaks

Last of three, he isn't dead

Unheard is that which he speaks

Follow wherever the tide of fate heads

-

Thwarted by a deadly spore

When everything's a question mark

Saved by a Horseroot lore

Enter a waiting taxi parked

-

Stolen secret "watch the skies"

Hidden in the hats they donned

Signaling flames must rise

The Hotel's Denouement

-

Where there's peace there must be strife

There's enemies and friends

Take the offered apple of life

To survive past The End

Author's Note: Okay, this is my first venture outside the maple fandom and into Series of Unfortunate Events, so try not to complain too much ... The poem's weird, and some parts sucked, but yeah. I thank wikipedia for giving me info about the books I didn't read :o.
