He frowned pulling his brown jacket tighter to his shivering form. Merciless freezing wind blew varying sized snowflakes in his face, a few getting stuck in his peculiar styled hair.

Looking around, he wasn't surprised to see that he was the only one around. Tala rolled his ice blue eyes, of course he was. No one else was crazy enough to be out at this time and especially in this weather.

But he had gotten the message a few minutes ago and was quickly dressed and out the door. He shuddered involuntarily, those dark eyes still haunted his memory.

Most of the path was dark but he knew the way by now and no one was fool enough to mess with him. Any normal person would even be able to feel his dark aura.

Trudging onward he cursed to himself, knowing better than to open his mouth in the cold weather. It didn't help that it was nearly three thirty in the morning.

Not far down, he saw a light on and the red head unintentionally let out a sigh of relief.
Tired but determined to get this done, he carried onward.

Almost a half-hour later, he arrived back in front the apartment door, not bothering to hide a yawn, he unlocked the odd coloured green door and stepped inside.

Not looking back he shoved the door shut and set his bag down long enough to hang up his jacket. That done, he was careful to avoid the stacks of boxes that had piled up between the living-room and the kitchen.

"Cocoa's on the counter." He turned around to see his very pregnant wife point over to the counter where a blue mug sat, steam rising from the top.

After handing her the bag, she kissed his cheek and thanked him before leaving to grab a spoon.

Grabbing the cocoa from the counter, he heard the slight clanging of silverware and the closing of the drawer.

Walking out of the small kitchen, he was careful to avoid the varying stacks of boxes that were scattered around their small apartment. Serving to remind him that in a few hours the others were coming over to help them move to their new house in the morning.

Before he sat down on the couch, he watched to make sure Kai didn't need any help sitting in the chair, she gave him a small annoyed glare. It was no surprise to him that she refused help for something like that.

Seeing she was alright, he sat down on the couch, catching a glimpse of a yet to be packed photo taken a few years ago of Himself, Kai and Voltaire where he handed over the company reigns to her and shortly after retired.

The red head frowned as he never liked the old man. He was opposed to their relationship from the beginning. Always claiming he was only with Kai to get money or that he didn't love her.

He may not have been rich or come from a normal background but he worked for the BBA and of course, he thought a bit amused, if he didn't love Kai than there was no way he would get out at three in morning, during winter, just to get her the vanilla ice-cream and sardines she was strangely content eating.

Dropping Voltaire from his mind, he leaned back in the couch and relaxed, enjoying the cocoa and the quiet night.

Authors Note:
I am re-writing this in the future. And sometime soon I will have the prequel for this up. Called "Love is" a series of TalaFemKai pieces that take place over the years up until this moment and one or two afterward.

P.S.
Can you find the "I Love Lucy" ref?
