Walking with Jesus

It was a warm day in Waycross in 2013. Since my aunt was pregnant, sickly with the Asian flu, and with DID, I had been helping her around the house. Unfortunately she was missing. However I was wept up alongside my friends into a tornado. When we landed I hurriedly to my feet.

"Welcome travelers do you come seek my master?" A man asked approaching us.

"Actually I'm looking for my aunts." I replied.

"Oh perhaps master or Mary will know. I'm Peter." He said. We walked behind him I saw a few familiar faces. Riding on a donkey. The best of burden was led by Jesus (Ben) and carrying Mary and Judas (Tim). As they led us I saw Mary's bony and sunken features as well as her belly. As the donkey stopped, Judas fell off behind it. At this point I was stifling with laughter.

"Aunt Mary is that really you?" I asked whispering walking close to the donkey so as not to be heard.

"Yes Kitten." She whispered weakly. Suddenly she began to slip from the saddle. I saw her coming and kept case. After a moment her hands gave and she fell. She was in free fall. Thankfully I caught her.

"Aunt Mary are you ok" I asked.

"Yes Kitten, thanks to you." She replied weakly.

"That prostitute takes up too much space. I fell off the donkey!" Judas (Tim) Snapped.

"Serves you right jerk!" I said.

"Kitten the baby is kicking. Do you want to feel?" She asked weakly cradling the belly.

"Sure." I said as she took my hand and placed it on the belly.

"It has a strong kick." She replied weakly.

"Mary who's this?" Jesus (Ben) asked.

"This is my niece master." Mary replied weakly. After a brief explanation, Jesus (Ben) understood. He let me and Mary speak. I was checking her over. Her eyes were sunken in and her limbs were boney. She was really sick.

"Aunt Mary, what's going on here?" I asked.

"I don't know, everyone's just lost it." She replied weakly. As we passed a checkpoint, I noticed roman guards stopping Jesus (Ben). Suddenly they circled us. They eyed us strangely. Then one of them tried to touch Mary. I wasn't going to let that happen.

"You're coming with us." The guard said.

"She can't she's very sick." I said

"You would defy us?" He asked.

"Yeah, you're not taking my aunt." I snapped. The guard pulled her off the donkey. They attempted to make her walk but she only fell to the ground. Not wanting to see her hurt, I helped her up. I walked with her and made sure she was safe.

"We should run." I whispered.

"We can't they'll kill Ben." She whispered to me weakly so that no one can hear her.
