Rogue Loss

It's not until much later, after everything has calmed down, that it occurs to Barry to wonder what exactly Captain Cold had meant when he said that the heroes weren't the only ones who had lost someone. It didn't take long to track the Rogue down; he was sitting at his house looking at a photograph.

"What do you want?"

"Who died?" Flash wasted no time in asking.

Len sighed heavily. "There was a toy convention in Metropolis and James wanted to go so Piper went with him. They called to let me know that they had arrived; Piper said he saw a strange light and then the line went dead. We didn't even get to bury them," a rare note of sadness could be heard in the villain's voice. "I know McCullough's a scumbag and that Superman would love nothing more than to hang his body from the rooftops as an example but he was a Rogue, dammit! If nothing else, at least let us bury him."

"I'll see what I can," Barry promised then left. It didn't take much convincing; Superman was too busy with his parents to be bothered with the body of a single villain.

The funeral was small; only Barry and the remaining Rogues attended then they dispersed quickly.

"I just thought you should know; we're leaving town," Len said abruptly on his way out of the cemetery.

"I can't guarantee your safety," Barry warned him. Superman might be a little bit of control but even he wouldn't attack a fellow hero's city as long as they were on his side.

"No need for that; a long time ago Sam found this…very unique place in the Mirror World. We'll be safe there. I've already lost three members of my crew and I'll be damned if I lose anymore. Goodbye, Flash."

Captain Cold exited the cemetery, leaving Barry alone, staring at three headstones, feeling strangely saddened.

A/N: First Injustice story. I know it's not very good but I just couldn't resist especially when I realized that at least two members of the Rogues weren't shown in the comics.
