Hello again everyone! You all may have known me as Shaye13, back when I posted stories, but now that I'm back I go by FoodNMusicRLife (Food and Music are Life). The reason I decided to stop posting was because I had just completely lost interest in writing. And had honestly completely forgot about it until recently. And now that I've found my interest again, I hope to start posting stories and updating chapters. But first I will be going through all current chapters and updating them to match my current writing skill level. So please be patient and I will be back to posting new chapters as soon as possible. Chapter 1
~Amu POV~
*2013*
The summer breeze blew through my curly pink hair, knotting the long locks. I sat, on the old, gray-blue bench me and my father had built together. It use to be in perfect condition, standing up right, surrounded by neatly trimmed grass, and a gorgeous garden with the large stream flowing steadily in front of it. Looking at the trash littered ground, my eyes slowly skimmed up to the peeling paint and splintering wood. I began to remember a time when the bench was still a shiny, deep sea blue, and the wood was still freshly cut. But now it sat crooked, missing a board, years of merciless weathering leaving it moldy and cracked, the garden over grown and filled with weeds, most of the top soil had eroded away making it impossible for plants and flowers to grow. The only thing that was still preserved, yet even it contained trash, was the large stream that still winded through the damp woods. In the middle of the stream, on an island, was the garden I had planted with the help of my family, it was my job to tend to this garden. Of course that was when life was simple, it was 1983, I was only six when we had begun the beautiful place that we called 'Paradise', my father had died in a car accident when I was 16, leaving me and my pregnant mother to care of the place alone, of course, grief-stricken, me and my mother did not come back in till months after the accident, the place was in desperate need of care so we began bringing things back into order. A few weeks after the garden had finally returned to its former glory my mother went into labor, during the long journey she died due to complications. The baby, Ami, was sent with me to live with my uncle and aunt, leaving the beautiful 'Paradise' that no one would find, because no sane person would venture that far into the wild, no, let me rephrase that, no sane person would venture that far behind my family's home. That is the thing I loved about my family, we weren't exactly known to be sane, we didn't look at our selves as sane people either. We loved the taste of adventure and craziness, every one was afraid to come in our yard or even near us. Saying we kept lions and bears as pets, or we would kill some one just for the thrill. It wasn't actually a lie -the lions as pets thing- I have a pet lion known as Sylvester, which I brought with me to my aunts and uncles because, like my parents and I, the rest of our family was a little insane. I giggled at my self in the empty forest and shook away my thought. If I continued sadness would find my heart again. I looked at my surroundings the people of that village never did drop the tales of this place, but it seems as though a few brave souls found it anyway. Most likely teenagers, due to all the alcoholic beverage bottles and trash that was scattered across the ground.
I sighed, "It's been 30 years my old Paradise. How would you like a good cleaning?" I asked out loud to nothing. As though it was answering, the grass shook happily. "I will comeback tomorrow with plenty of supplies, please be patient." the grass again shook in understanding.
I walked up to my childhood home. It creaked and groaned as I stared at its mold and dirt covered walls, the paint slowly peeling and chipping off, sending flakes to the ground. Each step on the porch was like walking on a rope. One wrong move and I was afraid I would plummet to my death. But I safely made it to the door. Sylvester stayed sturdily at my side as though to support me.
With a deep breath of the earthy smell that surrounded the house I pushed open the door and walked in to a sparkling tannish orange lobby looking area. Just like it was when I had left. I smiled knowing that this meant. My three maids and very good friends were still alive and well. Thoughts of them warmed me and I was overly joyed to be able to see them again. Ran, the energetic leader who loves to yell. Su, the calm, well mannered cook. And Miki, the quiet and talented artist. The day they had came to us was the first time I had met anybody who was willing to talk to me…
*Flashback*
Someone just rung the door bell, which was very unusual. So I answered it. In the doorway were three gorgeous women. The pink haired lady stood right in front of me grinning down at me with a almost to big smile. On her right was a blonde who had a gentle glow to her smile that made me feel relaxed. And to the left of the pink haired lady was a blue haired one, with no smile at all, but she didn't look mean or rude.
"Hi! Come in! Come in!" I waved them in excitedly.
"We can't come in without introducing ourselves, or on the account of a..." the pink haired girl began, but paused to guess me age.
"7-year-old." I stated for her.
"Exactly." She continued to smile down at me with her wide eyes.
"Pish posh," I swept my hand in the air, "this is the asylum! Who ever opens the door may invite who ever is at the door in. No matter who! There wouldn't be any point not to! Sylvester will take care of any bad people. So come on in my fellow crazies!" they looked at me with confusion.
"Asylum? Fellow crazies? What is this place?" their expressions made me burst out with laughter.
"Well you see, we are called crazy because we love to go on adventures, and do things other people would find stupidly dangerous or strange. Therefore we've been dubbed as psychos. So to go with our title, we named this house the asylum. The reason I've dubbed you as a fellow crazy is because you're the new talk of the town. The 'strange posse of three with witch like beauty and unnatural hair color whom are going around announcing that they are looking for the Hinamori family!' Anybody who actually looks for is must be crazy, too. Right?" I smiled at them, giggling. They looked at each other, sharing a private thought, and then smiled at me
*End of flashback*
After that they had introduced themselves. When they met my parents I was sent to my room for awhile and when I was allowed to return to the living room my parents had offered them to be the new house maids. When Ami and I left after mother's death they promised that they would stay and wait, keeping the house as clean as they could. Sylvester nudged my hand, snapping me out of my trance. I smiled down at him, patting his head to reassure his unsure stare. Knowing what I know about the trio, I was prepared to see them untouched by the hands of time. Another deep breath. "Ran, Miki, Su! I'm home." I shouted. Everything was silent, scary silent, until the pounding of six feet running through the house rang in my ears. Only a few minutes later they were all gaping at me. Total shock glistened in their eyes
"M-Misses... you haven't changed a bit!" Ran's loud voice bellowed in surprise. Her British accent sounding more pronounced than when she came here 30 years ago.
"I'm not the only one!" I laughed. It was the truth. They're young faces were the same as when I had left at 16. Looking like they were still in they're early 20's with no wrinkles whatsoever. "But I have grown! When I was 18 I ran into that damn Kairi Sanjo… something's happened and he decided that he would curse me with this damn immortality… It's been quite a while since then, I had to leave my family and that town, and my youth was beginning to become suspicious." I said looking down to avoid their questioning eyes. Sylvester licked my hand encouraging me. "But that's a story for later. I'm home! We should be celebrating!" They closed their eyes in understanding, they've all faced these problems as well. A moment passed by before any movement was made. Like always, with a burst of energy Ran slid down the railing of the long staircase they had all been standing at the top of, she gracefully landed. Without a moment's hesitation, on practically silent feet, she bounded to me and surrounded me in a tight bear hug. The other two followed in pursuit greeting me in a similar way. Sylvester lazily yawned and stalked his way over to his old palette, neatly laid in the corner, and plopped down on it. We all sat on the deep red, leather couch and talked for what seemed like hours about the past years… All happy things… When the doorbell rang. The girls looked questionably at each other. Each shrugging not understanding who could be here. I stood and walked to the door, opening it to find myself face to face with a pistol. Fear raced across my heart very briefly before anger ran through my blood warming up body. Sylvester, sensing my emotions was already pressing me backwards standing in between me and the gunman.
"JESUS IS THAT A LION?" Two startled voices yelled, the man holding the gun and someone behind him. Before I could say anything, the gun was pointed directly at the large, black cats head.
"STOP! Sylvester back!" I commanded. The black cat lowered down as though he was about to pounce, gave a deep growl, and slowly backed away. I swallowed down my spit trying to ease my dry throat. "H-how may I help you?" Damn my voice for showing weakness.
"Okay, Kukai, okay, put the gun down. I don't think we're in danger." I stood up straight at the sound of the deep, powerful voice. The tall man, with brown hair and eye, and an amazing tan, that I was assuming was Kukai shoved his gun back into the holster and stepped aside. Behind him stood, without doubt, the prince. His dark blue hair and matching eyes pierced me and set something off inside me. Prince Ikuto Tsukiyomi was a ruthless and greedy ruler. Just like his step-father the king.
Snapping out of my thoughts, I bowed respectively. "My prince, to what do I owe the pleasure of your visit tonight?" Chills went up my spine as he stepped closer.
"Just some business I would like to take up with the houses owner. Where may I find them?" Rage boiled my blood as he walked right past me into the house as though he owned it. Though, I guess he technically did. I stood up straight and turned to face him again.
"Why my prince, you are looking at her." He raised his eyebrow up and finally turned to look at me for the first time since he showed his face. A spark in his eyes showed that he approved. In all the wrong ways.
"Well then. As you know I'm Prince Ikuto Tsukiyomi. Today I've come to discuss with you some business dealing with your house." I cocked my head to the side, a sign the he should continue. "Well, you see, the citizens of the village nearby made it very clear that this beautiful property would be a perfect place to begin building my new summer palace, and that they would be very happy if the current house was completely torn down." He was smiling and staring at me with cold eyes that made me want to run and hide behind Sylvester.
"I'm sorry to inform you prince, but this property is not up for sale. I've just returned from a long journey, and I'm very tired. So if you would please take your leave now." I could tell this is not the reply he was looking for by the glint of anger in his eye.
"Is their perhaps someone older than you here? What are you, 18? A little too young to own such a permanent home, aren't I correct?" I debated withier to tell him my true age (47) or let him continue believing in the age I look (18). Deciding it was best not to say anything. "And with that accent of yours," he continued, "I wouldn't say you were from here. So this couldn't be inheritance from your parents, could it?" He eyes me very suspiciously.
"Actually, yes it is. My parent's died when I was younger, so I've been living with relatives. I've just returned to day in order to claim my estate." A glint of surprise sharpened his gaze, but it disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared.
"Interesting. But, I don't care. I want your house. It is no longer a choice. When can you be out?" He said brushing invisible dust off his shoulder.
"Excuse? Maybe you misheard me. The house is not for sale. Please leave. Now." I said walking to stand by the door. In my mind all I could picture was my home being torn down, the forest disappearing one tree at a time, my beautiful paradise being flattened into nothing.
"Maybe YOU misheard ME. I want your house, when can you be out?" his voice dripped with poison and promises of torture if I dared to disobey again. But, I have a very bad temper, and I'm very stubborn.
"GET OUT. NOW!" I sprinted to him without thinking, I raised my hand into the air and let it fall at full force across the prince's cheek. My skin turned as cold and my whole body tingled as it dawned on me. I just assaulted the prince. He stared at me in total shock holding his red cheek. Moments passed before he finally moved.
"Kukai. Grab her, we are leaving. Now." Without a moment's hesitation I was in handcuffs being pushed to the front door. Miki, Su, and Ran were all calling for me, but were too scared to move. Sylvester charged at Kukai. Before he made it half way to me, Kukai's gun was out and pointed at him.
"Sylvester, down." He froze in mid-stance and sat like a dog. He gave me a look that made me want to cry, and then he laid down. Before I knew it I was pushed into the backseat of a car and driven away.
"Where are you taking me." I demanded.
"Well you assaulted me. So of course you must be put in prison." My blood ran cold and I dreaded what lied ahead.
