word

notes: Somnipathy, noun, a disorder of sleep (or Sanni
trying to come up with a clever title). For xylodemon for the
birthday ficlets, who requested the pairing "in their new flat".
Prompt words: blankets, windows, moonlight. More experimental
in style. Inspiration partly from Kent's "Utan Dina
Andetag".
Touch, warmth - hands and other limbs reaching for skin but there's cotton in between. Barriers.
Harry's chin rests near a bellybutton that's not his and he breathes, slides down against freckled skin.
Freckles. Islands in oceans. Maps. Shallows and highlands. Ron has more sharp angles than soft shapes.
Harry likes that.
The blanket is so heavy he kicks it off.
So much to do when someone is asleep. So much to see. Touch.
He hesitates. Ron wouldn't, not when Harry's sleeping. But Ron doesn't sleep like Harry does, Ron's better at it. No nightmares.
Breeze comes out of the open window. Wind and Harry breathe. Gently.
He takes his t-shirt off.
Ron shifts. Stirs, shivers. Rubs his nose, not his eyes, reaches for the blanket that isn't there.
"Harry?"
They kiss. Relaxed, moist, eager, no fireworks – no need for any.
Touch, finally.
More.
"More."
Freckles. Maps. He studies by tasting, taking, making Ron make noises.
Salt. Flushed skin. Suddenly he thinks of dinner. Grins.
Ron's fallen asleep.
Harry lies down next to him. Touch, warmth - hand underneath the cotton. Pulling down barriers.
The moonlight shines into the room. Harry stares. Too bright.
Harry wishes he could sleep like Ron does.
