It was supposed to be a day of happiness...
"Do you, Jayme Cutter, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband..."
A new beginning...
"I love you,"
"I love you too, more than anything,"
Until she receives a note, a note that changes everything...
There was no name signed, no indication of whom it was from. All she knew was that it hadn't been there when she was at the table earlier, so whoever left it had done so when she was dancing.
It was just paranoia at first; she knew fine well how she had a tendency to over think things. It wasn't until after the honeymoon, she knew it was real...
'This is payback time, Jayme.'
She just didn't know how real...
"This is just the starter. Trust me, the main course is much more appetising,"
She didn't know how to stop them...
"I'm not waiting around for the next person to die!"
She didn't know who they were...
"You might want to be careful, I brought you here, I can just as easily put you back where you belong,"
And she didn't know how to handle it...
She sat like that for a while, watching the floor with an empty gaze, and he knew as he looked at her, this was scaring her. "Does Becker know?"
"No,"
Jayme's faced with her past, her life, and what could've been...
"You two a couple? Brother and sister? What?"
"Fiancé, Kevin proposed a few weeks ago,"
And more importantly, she's faced with reality...
"I wish I could help you," Becker murmured, the back of his head resting against the wall; he felt helpless, and he knew she felt the same way, and that broke his heart more than anything else in the world.
"You are," She whispered, holding onto his hand and leaning against his side, "Just don't leave me, ok? I can't lose you too,"
"It's the same with everyone, if they'd taken a different path, then some things would've been better, but some things would've been much worse. You wouldn't have Becker... Things could've been different, but that's not how it's meant to be, this is how it's meant to be."
