Summary: In which Niou learns to be content with things he cannot have.
Such a powerful instrument of delusion and illusions, that Niou can imagine Yagyuu standing there.
He reaches out, and touches the soft fabric of the Rikkai uniform.
It is this that lets Niou know that he is dreaming: the uniform is a piece of the past, and Yagyuu is not known to be sentimental; quite the contrary.
Niou curls his fingers around the fragile memory, and pulls the brown haired boy closer to him; into him.
Yagyuu does not dissolve. That further proves that this is a dream: in reality, Yagyuu dissolves every time Niou's thoughts touch his name. And Niou will find himself clutching air.
Niou can feel Yagyuu's scent. Yagyuu has a smart scent that is customary of all nerds. Niou has learned to try to forget that smell, but his mind never listens to him.
And Niou turns away, lets go of that memory, that delusion, that Yagyuu.
All it can ever be is a dream, and Niou has to be content with that.
