Ready to take a chance again.
Disclaimer: I do not own CSI or the lyrics to this song fic I'm just borrowing them.
A/N: I don't usually write song fics, but this song was perfect for Griss and Sara so here goes…
Gil Grissom stood in the wings of the local bar. It was Karaoke night and he and his team, including Sara, who had moved to Swing, joined him. Considering it was a Saturday, the bar was very crowded. Grissom had arranged in advance that at 9:00, he would have his turn.
"Where's Gil?" asked Sara looking around.
Greg raised an eyebrow and exchanged a knowing look with Catherine. "Men's room" he replied.
A minute later, the house lights went dim and every one stopped chattering and out came Gil Grissom with a microphone.
"Griss? Wha?" Sara said. But she stopped when Grissom started singing and as he sang, he started approaching the table.
You remind me I live in a shell,
Safe from the
past,
and doing' okay,
but not very well.
No jolts, no
surprises,
No crisis arises:
My life goes along as it should,
it's all very nice,
but not very good.
And I'm Ready To
Take A Chance Again,
Ready to put my love on the line with you.
Been
living with nothing to show for it;
You get what you get when you
go for it,
And I'm Ready To Take Chance Again with you.
When
she left me in all my despair,
I just held on,
My hopes were
all gone.
Then I found you there.
And I'm Ready To Take A
Chance Again
Ready To Take A Chance Again with you,
With you.
By the time Grissom was finished, Sara's tears were streaming down her face. Catherine was tearing up as well and Nick, Warrick and Greg were trying to hide their tears.
"Sara Sidle, I love you, will you marry me" he said and opened up a box with a gorgeous ring in it.
Sara stood up and gave her lover a big kiss and answered. "Why yes Gilbert" I'd be happy to be your wife.
