Stark stared out the window, watching as the rain from the storm pelted the window. It had been months after Zoey had chased Kalona off, and Zoey had resolved her issues with Heath and Erik. She was no longer with Erik, having broken up a week after the whole Kalona incident. The imprint with Heath had been broken too, though they had remained friends. He sighed. His feelings for her were stronger, but she didn't realize that she'd saved him.

The monster he'd been before she'd come back was a bad memory, and he had Zoey to thank for it. If she hadn't treated him like a human with feelings, he'd still be that monster, unfeeling to everyone and everything around him. She restored his humanity, even though she thought he did it himself. He turned from the window and watched as Zoey joked around with Stevie Rae. She turned and grinned at him, motioning him over.

An ending in deep solitude
He shook his head, and stayed put, content to watch. Damien called her name, and she looked over, laughing and shaking her head. Stark wished that he could interact with them, and joke with them, but knew that he was still a stranger, someone to be watched warily, in case he snaps and goes after someone.

Zoey disengaged herself from the group and walked over to where he was sitting. "Hey, why don't you come join us?"
He shrugged. "I don't want to intrude." She rolled her eyes. "You won't. You're as much a part of this group as I am." He nodded. "Alright." He stood and followed her to the group.

Stevie Rae grinned at him, and motioned for him to sit between her and Zoey. He sat down reluctantly, and eyed his spot by the window. Zoey said something, and he looked over. "What?" She grinned again. Damien spoke up. "You're happier not knowing." He shot Zoey a disapproving look.

Stark shrugged and went back to staring out the window, this time from across the room. She really had no idea just how much of his humanity she had returned to him. He blinked when he felt Zoey grab his hand, and thread her fingers through his. He looked down at their clasped hands and smiled. Zoey smiled back, and went back to teasing Damien, only this time, Stark was in on it too.
