A/N: I do not own any of the characters.
"Sei-chaaan!", she shouted, much louder than it would have been necessary at that time of the day, in such an empty street. She then rose to her tiptoes and waved, trying to catch that man's attention.
As if her gaudy clothes would not have sufficed, he thought.
"Good evening, Hokuto-chan," he greeted her with curved lips.
"You're late," remarked the girl.
"I'm very sorry. I was ... delayed."
Seishirou rose his left hand, minutes ago covered in blood, now holding up a bright orange paper-bag reading Mister Donut.
"I thought you and Subaru-kun might like some," he added, amused at Hokuto's frown.
"You better bought his favourite, otherways your future sister-in-law would not be impressed."
"Of course," Seishirou replied, smiling widely, "Why else would I have stopped there?"
"Way to go, Sei-chan!", cheered the girl, her face lightening up, "You are forgiven."
He sighed in relief, then offered to carry the girl's bags as they made their way to the elevator. She announced that the meal should be ready before her brother arrived home from work, explaining that she had not seen him for two days and that he had most probably not eaten properly. He complimented her on being such a caring sister and helped her cook.
He played along as she pitied him for not being able to spend more time with her brother, smiled and scowled when necessary. He left in time to pick up the boy, telling Hokuto with a smile that this would be an excellent opportunity for him to cause a great impression on both her and his brother. She laughed and told him to drive safely before he closed the door behind him.
"Good evening, Subaru-kun," he greeted him with curved lips.
The boy entered the car with a shy thank you, apologized for causing him any inconvenience. The man told him that it had caused him no inconvenience at all and that it was a pleasure to spend a little time with him.
"How was your work today?" he then asked, observing the boy blush at his former comment.
"Fine. The shrine was beautiful," Subaru replied cheerfully. After a short pause he added: "And yours?"
Seishirou laughed.
"Full of suprises, Subaru-kun. Full of surprises, as it always is."
